BE LIKE BAMBOO (my latest blog post)
Our calendars have turned to a new year and we might be looking for some optimism, something to look forward to that will nourish our lives. The daily news hits us hard with natural disasters, ongoing wars, bird flu, and on and on.

I’ve been thinking about what I can do to make a difference, even in small ways, to positively impact my friends, family, my Tai Chi students and all those with whom I might interact. Maybe adopt a word for the year like kindness, patience, smile, listen. All good traits for us to share with people every day. Taking time to make a phone call, send a text, write a note, smile at a neighbor. Slowing down. Taking time for others.

However, I desire to have something to aspire to and it hit me in a flash, what that something could be. Bamboo. Be more like bamboo. Let’s consider together at that might look like.

“We learn from others’ experiences. What an inspiring book!”

The author went through misery when, as a young adult, she was diagnosed with MS, a debilitating disease. This is not an easy-fix medical story. She had to work long and hard, with the help of a healer and Tai Chi, just to walk again. Now, many years later, she has been teaching Tai Chi to others for 25 years. This is an uplifting story of one person’s working against her fate to achieve a full and active life again, and sharing her love for Tai Chi, and belief in its healthful effects, with others."

Celebrating 25 Years Teaching Tai Chi!

My journey to this milestone has been filled with many wonderful students, supportive cheerleaders and wise teachers. Tai Chi fundamentally changed my relationship with my body, a debilitating chronic illness and my world. It's humbling and an honor to teach this ancient practice that can make powerful changes to one's life.
THANK YOU. . . to each and every person who has come to a class, taught me more, attended a demonstration, read my book or shared news of my work. I really appreciate the community that has made this quarter of a century so remarkable.

“Wonderful book. Written so well and so honestly.”
~ Elaine, new 5-star Goodreads review

When my Tai Chi students urged me to write a book about my journey, I hoped my story of struggling with chronic illness and finding my way one step at a time would help others. It’s been so gratifying to see and hear feedback from actual readers!

If you or someone you know has some big challenges in life — in health or otherwise — check out or share my book, Walking on Pins and Needles. You might find some helpful ideas or insight, too.

It’s been a year. It’s February 2023 and I am celebrating my One-Year Anniversary of publishing my book, Walking On Pins and Needles!

THANK YOU! Thank you, readers, friends, people that I don’t know who have read my book and let me know that it has touched you. It was my Tai Chi students who really urged me to write this book, to tell my story, because it motivated them not just to think about it, but to actually DO something positive about their health, whatever it might be. Take one step.

I have had such a good time participating in book groups and stimulating conversations, one-on-one’s, podcasts. Everything from healthy living to podcasts having to do with Tai Chi, with chronic illness, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, reaching a diverse audience.
Thank you. It’s been a remarkable year and I hope the good energy of this book will continue to circulate and reach many more people whose lives may be enriched by this story.
