On March 6th, Dr. Whitcomb attended the dedication of the two classrooms and foundation lab at the College of Nursing in Ludhiana. Our board sponsored their construction. Dr. Whitcomb was honored to be there!

Our Executive Director, Dr. Whitcomb, is in Ludhiana to attend the biannual Board of Governors for Ludhiana CMC.

While visiting the hospital, she met with several members of the medical staff, spoke with nursing students in one of the newly renovated classrooms, and viewed the new ICU, funded by local industrialists Mr. Rajinder Gupta of Trident and Mr. Varinder Gupta of MD-IOL Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals.

She also inspected progress on the Dr. Raj Mathews Hostel for women medical students, funded by our Board. Concrete will be poured for the second floor this week!

We are deeply saddened to share that two of our board members have passed away since the beginning of this year.

Dr. Virginia Hall passed away on January 27th. She served on Ludhiana CMC's Board for 13 years. You can read her obituary here: https://www.trefzandbowser.com/obituaries/Virginia-E-Hall?obId=47102148

Dr. Dorothy Barbo passed away on February 21st. She was a board member for over 30 years. Her memorial service will be in Albuquerque on April 11th. Per her request, please send any memorial contributions to the Barbo Medical Student Scholarship here: https://ludhianacmcusa.org/donate/

The Ludhiana Hospital recently has had to purchase a new CT scan as well as a new cardiac catheterization lab. Please join the challenge to pay for this costly and much needed equipment.

Punjab flood relief camp was organized by Christian Medical College and Hospital Ludhiana, on 6th September 2025 at Islampur village , district Gurdaspur in collaboration with Panther Division ( Indian Army) under operation "RAHAT". People evacuated from flood affected village were brought for Medical aid at the CMC camp. The team from CMC was led by Director, Dr Wiiliam Bhatti and consisted of Dr.Neil George, MD Medicine, Dr.Shone Chacko, MD Paediatrics, Dr.Sandeep Bonel, PG resident, Department of Community Medicine and Dr.Bivin Sateesh, PG resident, Department of Otorhinolaryngology and paramedical staff of RHOP. Two hundred and twenty five villagers were provided medicines. Dry ration and sanitary napkins were also distributed in the camp.
Dr William Bhatti and Dr Subhash Lazarus alumnus of CMC ( Batch of 1984) working at Dhariwal Mission Hospital also visited village Chauntra, Indo Pak border at bank of river Ravi by boat in heavy rain, escorted by Indian Army to provide medical aid and ration to villagers who could not come at camp site.
More such camps have been planned to help flood affected areas by CMC and Hospital. We look forward to donations and help from our alumni, faculty and staff for our flood relief campaign.
