Punjab flood relief camp was organized by Christian Medical College and Hospital Ludhiana, on 6th September 2025 at Islampur village , district Gurdaspur in collaboration with Panther Division ( Indian Army) under operation "RAHAT". People evacuated from flood affected village were brought for Medical aid at the CMC camp. The team from CMC was led by Director, Dr Wiiliam Bhatti and consisted of Dr.Neil George, MD Medicine, Dr.Shone Chacko, MD Paediatrics, Dr.Sandeep Bonel, PG resident, Department of Community Medicine and Dr.Bivin Sateesh, PG resident, Department of Otorhinolaryngology and paramedical staff of RHOP. Two hundred and twenty five villagers were provided medicines. Dry ration and sanitary napkins were also distributed in the camp.
Dr William Bhatti and Dr Subhash Lazarus alumnus of CMC ( Batch of 1984) working at Dhariwal Mission Hospital also visited village Chauntra, Indo Pak border at bank of river Ravi by boat in heavy rain, escorted by Indian Army to provide medical aid and ration to villagers who could not come at camp site.
More such camps have been planned to help flood affected areas by CMC and Hospital. We look forward to donations and help from our alumni, faculty and staff for our flood relief campaign.

Ludhiana Christian Medical College has historically been the only alternative for indigent patients in Punjab. Maneet arrived with an injury to his pancreas that required surgery. Fortunately, Dr. William Bhatti, head of the Pediatric Surgery Department, was able to oversee his surgery and care which has led to Maneet’s full recovery. As reflected on the faces of Maneet and his mother, they are grateful for the stellar medical care and compassion provided. His single parent mother is the only earning member of his family of five which consists of Maneet and his three sisters, and her daily wages barely provide their day-to-day food needs.

The Ludhiana Christian Medical College and Hospital has a history of 129 years of service to the villagers in the rural Punjab state around Ludhiana. Taking urgently needed medical care directly to the villages has been a practice from the earliest times. In keeping with the mandate of the Institution to reach out to the under served communities, clinics and camps are held regularly in rural areas. Your contributions will ensure the continuation of these camps and the care needed by thousands of people.

Breaking news from Ludhiana CMC:
Electrical Substation up-gradation Project (08-06-23)
The dedication of the upgraded Electrical substation was organized in the Christian Medical College and Hospital. The momentous event was the culmination of months of hard work supervised by the Director, Dr William Bhatti and the technical team alongwith the guidance and support of Ganga Acrowools Ltd. The electrical substation in CMC has got a complete makeover after 50 years under this project funded by the Ludhiana CMC Board, USA, the Friends of Ludhiana, UK, GAL, New Swan Multitech Ltd, Ralson (India) Ltd, Eastman Cast & Forge Ltd, Nano tech Chemical Brothers and Sobhagia Sales Pvt Ltd. All the ageing machinery, including panels, cables and transformers have been replaced with State of the Art equipment under this project.
Dr Ravinder Verma, MD, GAL was the Chief Guest on this occasion and lauded the efforts of the team in CMC. He assured to provide technical support to the substation in the future as well. The event was graced by Mr Upkar Singh Ahuja and Mr S N Maini as the Guests of Honour. Both the industrialists have generously supported various projects in CMC & Hospital, Ludhiana.
Dr Sudhir Joseph, the Chairman and Bishop Rt Rev P Samantaroy, the Vice Chairman of the Governing Board, CMC were also present on this occasion. The Administrative team honoured each one of the technical personnel involved in this project.
