Punjab flood relief camp was organized by Christian Medical College and Hospital Ludhiana, on 6th September 2025 at Islampur village , district Gurdaspur in collaboration with Panther Division ( Indian Army) under operation "RAHAT". People evacuated from flood affected village were brought for Medical aid at the CMC camp. The team from CMC was led by Director, Dr Wiiliam Bhatti and consisted of Dr.Neil George, MD Medicine, Dr.Shone Chacko, MD Paediatrics, Dr.Sandeep Bonel, PG resident, Department of Community Medicine and Dr.Bivin Sateesh, PG resident, Department of Otorhinolaryngology and paramedical staff of RHOP. Two hundred and twenty five villagers were provided medicines. Dry ration and sanitary napkins were also distributed in the camp.
Dr William Bhatti and Dr Subhash Lazarus alumnus of CMC ( Batch of 1984) working at Dhariwal Mission Hospital also visited village Chauntra, Indo Pak border at bank of river Ravi by boat in heavy rain, escorted by Indian Army to provide medical aid and ration to villagers who could not come at camp site.
More such camps have been planned to help flood affected areas by CMC and Hospital. We look forward to donations and help from our alumni, faculty and staff for our flood relief campaign.
