Most rehab starts at the injury.

It should start at discharge.

If you know the end standard . . .

You can build toward it from Day 1.

"When can I run?"

You know the question.

And sometimes . . . you hesitate.

Not because you don't know.

Because you don't have a clear system.

Fix that – free masterclass, April 9 at 8 PM EDT.

"Strong isn’t the same as ready."

That’s a reminder – not a return-to-sport standard.

Without a system, you’re relying on a feeling – and that’s where problems start.

Rules are helpful, but they don’t cover every situation. In this video, I break down the core principles that guide imaging decisions when there isn’t a clean rule to follow.

Is Confidence the Missing Link in Return to Sport?

We often use questionnaires like the ACL-RSI to assess an athlete’s psychological readiness—but are we using them the right way?

One of the biggest takeaways from my conversation with Dr. Clare Ardern on the Medbridge Rehab & Performance Lab podcast: These tools aren’t pass/fail tests. There’s no magic score that determines if an athlete is “ready” or not.

Instead, they lead to critical conversations about what the athlete is feeling. Are they overconfident? Hesitant despite great physical progress? The key is tracking mental readiness alongside physical function to guide a successful return to sport.

Let’s shift the focus from just numbers to meaningful discussions that support long-term success.

Isometrics are one of the most powerful tools in rehabilitation, yet they are underutilized. In this video, I discuss the benefits of using isometrics at all phases of rehabilitation.

Most return-to-sport decisions come down to:

Time since surgery and how the athlete "feels"

But "feels strong" isn't a standard.

It doesn't tell you if they're actually ready.

That gap is where re-injuries happen.

I'm breaking down a better approach in a free live masterclass – April 9 at 8 PM EDT.

Most imaging problems don’t come from the image – they come from the referral. In this clip, I break down how clearer, more structured referrals help radiologists answer the right clinical question.
