Still not too late to join me starting next Saturday May 31st for another round of strength focused classes for runners. We had a lot of fun with these through the winter months!

It’s important that our bodies are prepared for the specific types of loads that we put them through - the goal of these classes is to help you better cross train to do just that - decreasing injury risk and improving performance.

Mark your calendars! RUN STRONG is coming back!

⏰: Saturdays at 10am beginning May 31st-June 21st (4 classes), 60-75 min per class, located at CrossFit High Bar

We’re rolling right through spring race season currently (feeling so bummed for my Carmel running clients and friends that weren’t able to race last weekend!!)… and fall race training plans aren’t too far away. Run Strong is intended to prepare you with RUNNING SPECIFIC strength training and movements to help kickstart your training.

My goal is to provide you with a foundation for strength training throughout your course of training that:
✅ teaches you how to load appropriately for running specific demands
✅ helps you gain strength to prevent running specific injuries
✅ improves your running and race performance

Cost is $120, includes in person Saturday session with a simple mobility workout programmed for you to complete independently between sessions.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT.

If exercise is medicine, DOSAGE MATTERS. If you’re having trouble with pain, irritation, or not making the progress you’re hoping to make - remember the details matter! Finding the right combination or dosage should be individualized and will vary at different periods of your life. Sometimes more (or even every day therapy exercise) is not always better.

Example - If you’re a runner and noticing discomfort OR a lack of progress, we need to consider dosage (frequency, durations, intensities) with both running, specific types of strength movements, and other physical activity - all RELATIVE to your goals, races, or current situation.

Anyone else love to run in a slow steady rain? 🏃‍♀️🌧️

April showers mean we’ve already hit taper weeks for some big regional races coming up. If you’re struggling with a ni**le pre-race, it’s not too late to come get it checked out!

My sessions with runners don’t just involve masking or getting rid of pain - we strategize and chat about training plans, mileage, intensity, warm ups, cool downs, fueling, shoes, etc - because ALL of these pieces affect your performance, recovery, and any injuries or “ni**les” you’re dealing with.

Evolve strives to focus on the whole person - we don’t function in parts and health care shouldn’t treat you that way!

Under an out-of-network model care is different. There are so many reasons I believe in this model (and you can find them on this page) - thoroughness, clarity, communication, integration, etc. Come experience it for yourself!

Your rehab should start to look like your training. It shouldn’t only be simple exercises you don’t have to think much about but have to repeat 2x a day. (Seriously - who has time for that?) You need intentional, focused sessions, exercises that are challenging to coordinate but some that may be challenging on strength, rest periods… there should be balance in your rehab that fits your unique scenario and goals.

I’m looking for a couple more runners interested in joining our Run Strong classes in January! This group was so much fun the last round and we’ll be doing one more round before getting heavier into spring race training.

The group is intended to provide runners with movement guidance outside of their running - loading the body in a variety of ways to prepare for the demands of running. It is intended to pair well with your training and not overload you!

Classes are each Saturday in January at 10am. Please share and let all your running friends know! Send me a message if you are interested or with any questions you have!

I’ve had so much fun the last few Saturdays with our Run Strong class - the next round is coming in January! We’ll do one more round of 4 weeks before spring race season.

If you happen to have races planned early in the season, or this winter, everything is modifiable - we can modify movements, load, or reps to fit your need. The intent of these classes are to add in run specific strength without limiting your ability to run well, but to contribute to it.

If you have questions, want to join but can’t make a day, or are wondering if you could fit it into your training plan - reach out and we can chat about your situation!

Classes are Saturdays at 10am. You’ll receive a 2nd mobility specific workout each week to perform independently. Can’t wait for round 2!

Run Strong 💪🏻 group strength classes will be coming back in January! The class will run each Saturday at 10am. Classes are strength focused and designed with run specific exercises meant to pair well with your training. Each week you’ll receive a separate mobility focused workout to do on your own in between sessions.

We’re wrapping up our first round of classes this Saturday and it’s been so fun getting to work with this group!

I’ve had a handful of clients share stories lately (and seen too many stories) about doctors or therapists telling them to never do things again.

Fear. There is not a single thing helpful about someone telling you to stop.

Some examples: Don’t do exercise with your arms overhead. Don’t ever jog after that knee replacement (never chases grandchild again). And while we’re on knee replacements… Never kneel on your knee again! Stop deadlifting because it’s causing your back pain.

In almost every single scenario, stopping the things you once did only lead to a decreased level of fitness, decreased resiliency to whatever life is going to throw at you.

If you flared something up doing x, y, or z - sometimes it just might be the thing you NEED to work on. If you need help figuring out how to do that thing again, reach out for a free consultation and we can talk about your options!
