A client once told me her massage was a “reward” for sticking with her workout routine.

And while I understood what she meant… it also made me think about how often we treat care and rest like something we have to earn.

You are allowed to take care of yourself simply because you are a person who deserves care.

Not because you were productive enough.
Not because you worked hard enough.
Not because you finally hit burnout.

Rest, care, and support aren’t indulgences reserved for after we’ve depleted ourselves completely. They’re part of being human. 💚

🌿 Rest doesn’t have to come after burnout, exhaustion, or pushing yourself past your limit.

Taking care of yourself before things become a problem is healthy — not lazy. The same way we maintain our cars before they break down, our bodies and nervous systems need care before we hit empty too.

💆🏼 Massage, rest, stretching, quiet time, sleep, movement, saying no, taking a day off… these things aren’t signs that you’re failing to keep up. They’re part of what helps us keep going sustainably.

Sometimes prevention looks a lot less dramatic than recovery. 💚
