That day, the Park Ranger at Mt Ranier saw my cane and unsteady gait, my tip of the iceberg. He shook his head and tried to talk me out of the 6 mile hike. His doubt was the added fuel I needed to make that joy-filled journey with daughter Liza. I’m blessed to be high functioning after 25 years of living with Multiple Sclerosis. Not everyone with MS is that lucky. Remember, looks can be deceiving with this chronic illness that affects 1 million in the US. This last day of MS Awareness month, I wish all who live with the hidden challenges of MS a good day and a life of joy!
