Weekly Wellness Fact-State health officials reported Monday that Indiana has its largest outbreak of whooping cough cases since the 1950s.

More than 500 cases of the highly contagious illness were identified in the state in 2010 , including two infant deaths, according to the state health department.

Wellness Wednesday Fact...Many states are beginning to mandate Hepatits A vaccines as part of the school entry requirements. Although Indiana has not yet mandated this vaccine, the CDC recommends that children age 12 months of age, begin the two shot series for Hepatitis A.
