When Cierrah Myers learned her father, Brandon, would soon be placed on a ventilator, she and her fiancé, Jacob, chose not to wait. With the support of family, friends and the quick-acting care team at Ascension St. Vincent Evansville, they held their wedding right at Brandon’s bedside in the ICU.

Surrounded by loved ones, Cierrah and Jacob began their life together, sharing a moment of joy and love even in the hardest of times. Most importantly, Cierrah's dad was there to watch them start their new life together as Mr. and Mrs. 💙

We're celebrating another FIRST for the region! 🚨

Ascension St. Vincent-Evansville has successfully implanted the region's first flexible right-sided Percutaneous Ventricular Assist Device.

The flexible right-sided Percutaneous Ventricular Assist Device is a minimally invasive heart pump designed to treat right heart failure by providing life-saving, temporary support when the right side of the heart is unable to pump enough blood to the lungs.

Think of it as a temporary assist for the heart. Inserted through a vein in the neck or leg, the device helps move blood to the lungs, allowing the heart to work less hard and buy time for it to recover.

We’re honored to bring this cutting-edge technology to our community.

🎉 Happy 83rd Birthday, Olus Justus! 🎂

Olus made the trip from St. Meinrad to Ascension St. Vincent Evansville for a very special gift- a new heart valve. 🫀

Thanks to a minimally invasive procedure called TAVR, Olus was able to avoid open-heart surgery, getting him home and back to his normal routine quicker.

We’re so grateful he trusted us with his care and even more excited to celebrate this birthday alongside him. Here’s to many more birthdays ahead, feeling stronger every year! 💪

Dr. Dela Llana has served as a Family Medicine Physician at Ascension St. Vincent Evansville Primary Care for 18 years.
