or even that my learning and evolution is complete.

But I have stumbled along this path of healing and I'd be honored to support you in your journey to self.

Somatic Experiencing therapy can be hard to explain with words as it depends so heavily on the individual's felt experience.

I am loving this book, Food Therapy by Luis Mojica of .life.navigation and these concise slides from on the three types of foods, categorized not by good, bad, and ugly, but by they way they affect our nervous system.

What is your relationship with the foods you eat, and what effect are you reaching for?!

I love Luis' simple intro to Somatic practices and I'm finding it so interesting to consider what I'm feeling before I ingest something. Definitely forces us to s l o w d o w n and sense into our bodies.

What a blessing to have pain as a muse and not because I am experiencing it!

I want to understand this phenomenon better.. why we experience it differently and how we can interrupt the plight of chronic pain by healing the contributing factors for ourselves!

Stay with me here...

Pain is an INTERPRETATION of sensation and other LIVED expereiences that come together IN THE BRAIN to send us a message. Most often the message is danger, time to act! But when it's chronic, lasting for months and years we owe it to ourselves to consider what is contributing OUTSIDE of a physiological cause (disease, bulging disc, etc)

points out in her book, Tell Me Where It Hurts that pain is ALWAYS a combination of physical, emotional, and social factors.

I hope to gather as much info as I can on the experience of pain and construct a plan for my clients to take back control of their lives. I'd love for you to tag along, learn, and show me what resources have helped you along the way!

PSA: You are the only one that can truly advocate for your health! Medical care in our area and probably most places right now is a sh*tshow. The system is broken, our expectations are misguided, and what we believe to be the best solution to our pain, often is not!

I dont care if you dislike exercise... you have a body, it needs movement, reliable nutrition and resistance and recovery and REST! Find what you can tolerate and start doing it consistently.

The consequence of not is well documented, you become dependent on a broken system that only knows how to treat symptoms with more invasive options. Then you are not only fighting for your life but you also get to fight the medical system to get the care you need. Its a war of attrition and your mind and body become the victim of attrition.

Visit the link in my profile to see what Ive been up to. As part of national database of "gear libraries", designed such that a rider can check out some gear for free/ donation/ or small fee. I have not found ANY other such libraries in Indiana, let alone the tri-state area.

🚴‍♀️ I'm still workong on additional photos and information for the gear that is available. Since requesting an item will be via email for the time being, I figured I could at least get many of the items out there. I am happy to answer questions or meet up to discuss bike -bag setups!

👜 I am also looking for donations of bikepacking bags and some camping gear if you have gently used items you'd be willing to part with.

📍 Also, it just so happens I've set up some bikepacking routes and dates so we can get out and use our gear! Proposed 2 day ride dates on the last weekends of April, May, and June!

What a day! I just had one of the best days on my bike in over 2 years! I've been putting just a little time in on the trainer and I'm feeling the difference! The real catalysis, contrast training with sauna and cold plunge 2-3x a week since december.

It's helped with so many things including my cold tolerance and areas of inflammation. The real kicker is my motivation to keep up other habits is way up.

I'd love to help you try out contrast training ! I'm facilitating a workshop for those who feel like they could never do a cold plunge. That was me, and I can truly say I miss it if I haven't gone for a few days!

The next Candlelight and Calm Nervous System Reset is Sat, March 7th 3- 430 pm. The last two have sold out so register today!!

Try it... and then try it two more times and tell me you havent noticed a shift in your mind and body!

Candlelight + Calm event: $50 a person, 7-830 pm Jan. 8th and 22nd or 23rd- TBD

In coordination with owner, Tracie Irvin- Ayers I will be facilitating this small group experience geared towards first timers. We will discuss the physiological and nervous system benefits of contrast therapy, as well as support you in whatever your personal goal is. That may be cold plunging your legs for 20 seconds- it all counts and it's a proven way for your body to acclamate to temperature stress!

No peer pressure, no forcing, no maning up. Respect your nervous system and learn how to build its capacity over time!
