🦓It was a beautiful day to support an amazing organization and a cause close to our hearts! 🧡 ehlers.danlos
Our Team provided hypermobility screening, run warm up, and had great discussion on the impacts of EDS and HDS on life, both adult and pediatric!

Hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD) are connective tissue disorders that cause joint hypermobility, instability, injury, and pain. Other problems such as fatigue, headaches, GI problems, sensory integrative dysfunction, and autonomic dysfunction are often seen as part of HSD (EDS Society, 2026).

May is Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes (EDS) 🦓and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD) Awareness Month 💙

Hypermobility and dysautonomia require more than just a standard PT approach—they require a deep understanding of the nervous system and connective tissue.

At Forefront Therapy, we specialize in treating the intersection of hypermobility and POTS. We know that managing these conditions involves more than just strength; it’s about autonomic regulation and functional quality of life.

Our specialized care plans are designed to help you:

Understand your body’s unique triggers.
Manage complex symptoms through targeted exercise.

Live with more energy and less unpredictability.

Ready to start feeling better? Let’s create your roadmap to recovery.

Our Jackeline Yagual, MSOT, OTR/L, BCP presented at the annual National OT Conference, AOTA Inspire 2026, on the longterm impact of substance exposure in utero on children, specifically in school aged children. ⭐️
Awesome example of taking what we’ve learned through listening to families, specialization, and clinical practice and sharing it with the therapy world! Great work Jackie! 🤩

🥰☺️It's hard to see us blushing with pride but this post got us! Thank you for sharing!🥹😍
"Best therapy services for more than you even knew you needed all in one place! We have received physical therapy, occupational therapy, and just graduated from speech therapy.
I switched my son to Forefront speech therapy after a few months at another therapy location with minimal progress. He made exponential progress within just a few short weeks. Now as his school is just now getting around to initiating the speech services, he has already overcome most of his speech problems. I was allowed to go back with my child so that I could hear how they worked with him and be able to mimic that and work with him more closely at home. Ms Hope was our main therapist and she was great with him, being so patient with his wiggles and short attention. Ms Emma also worked with us and she, too, was so kind and patient. They work hard to build a relationship and trust with your child first, so they are comfortable and willing to work. They play games and make the “work” fun.
Both my kids also get occupational therapy with Ms Anna, who has been so helpful helping us overcome some of the sensory and focus issues they have.

I was led to this fabulous facility by being referred for pelvic floor physical therapy. I had no idea how comprehensive their services would be. My physical therapist, Tonya, has helped me figure out so much with the way my body works and how to correct what I didn’t even know was wrong. She has led me to finding answers to problems that ultimately have saved my life.

You are seen as a person here, not “just” a patient. They see you as a whole and hear what you say. They are all knowledgeable about a broad range of issues and I can’t say enough positive things."

💙At the heart of the work to address the Opioid Epidemic are people who are deeply passionate about improving lives.

During the Evansville Opioid Symposium, healthcare providers, researchers, and educators came together to share poster presentations highlighting evidence-based, nonpharmacological approaches to addressing opioid use and supporting trajectory of lives.

We were proud to feature posters from Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapists from Forefront Therapy, as well as students and faculty from the University of Southern Indiana Kinney College of Nursing and the University of Evansville Dunigan Family School of Nursing. Their work showcased innovative research and practical strategies that healthcare professionals can use to support individuals and families affected by the opioid crisis.

What stood out most was the dedication behind the work—professionals and students committed to finding better ways to care for people, strengthen outcomes, and support healthier communities.

Events like this remind us how powerful collaboration between clinicians, educators, and community partners can be when the shared goal is improving people’s lives through whole-person, evidence-based care.

Forefront is grateful to everyone who contributed their knowledge, research, and passion to this important conversation. Together, we can continue moving evidence-based care forward in our community.
