Felicia Simmons and Safiya Wickware are a huge part of our UEPA Education Team taking several students per year in Women’s Health. Logan Colvis and Erin Tomlin shared this about their time with the team at Evansville OBGYN😃
“I spent my first rotation in womens health at Evansville OBGYN. This rotation exceeded my expectations and more. I have loved my time getting to learn from Safiya. She is a great leader in the office & I hope to use the same patient management skills she has displayed with my future patients. While at this rotation, we have done routine OB visits, yearly exams, hormone replacement therapy, and more. Thanks again, Evansville OBGYN, for having Erin & I!!”

“Learning from Felicia has been nothing short of amazing. She is a wonderful provider and I learned so much from her not only about Women’s Health, but about being a confident and compassionate provider. I can’t thank her enough for trusting me enough to handle patients on my own from almost the very start. I even got to be present for some deliveries! Logan and I can’t thank the lovely staff at Evansville OBGYN enough for making us feel at home this month”

PA3 students Katarina Preisler and Lauren Miro completed their last rotation with Evansville OBGYN! Our preceptors there are Safiya Payne-Wickware, WHNP-BC and Felicia Simmons, WHNP-BC. Here is what Lauren shared about her time with Safiya & Felicia:

"The past 3 weeks we have been rotating at Evansville OBGYN with nurse practitioners Safiya and Felicia. We have gotten to provide care to women in all stages of life including prenatal, post partum, pre and post-menopause. Our daily tasks include finding fetal heart tones, performing annual gynecological wellness exams including pap smears and cervical exams, weight management, depression/anxiety, observe and assist on procedures and so much more. I am so blessed this was my last rotation - I cannot think of a better way to end my clinicals!"

Appreciation Tuesday from Evansville OBGYN goes out to Safiya W., our Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner! Her main focus is GYN patients & loves what she does. She’s so compassionate and works very hard to provide every patient with the best care possible. Safiya is so inspirational to her co-workers by continuing education and making sure we provide the most up-to-date care. We couldn’t be more pleased to have her as one of our own at Evansville OBGYN! 🫶

Appreciation Tuesday from Evansville OBGYN goes out to Ashley H., our Staff Nurse! Although her main role is to work directly beside and for Dr. Hastetter, she demonstrates this exact role to our patients as well! Ashley’s work ethic, dedication and knowledge of our practice is indescribable after 5 years with our work Family. 🥳

We couldn’t be more humble and proud to have her with us at Evansville OBGYN!
