Trigger point injections are used to treat painful muscle knots and contractions that develop when muscles fail to relax properly. These problem areas can often be palpated under the skin. The injection is administered directly into the tightened muscle region, also known as the trigger point. To learn more about trigger point injections or to discuss your treatment options, please contact our Pain Management Centers of America. We would be happy to conduct an examination and consultation to determine if trigger point injections are an appropriate treatment approach for your condition. https://pmcoa.us/

Are you experiencing chronic or acute pain that is interfering with your quality of life? If so, you may be a candidate for a nerve block injection. A nerve block involves injecting an anesthetic medication near targeted nerves in order to temporarily relieve pain transmission. By blocking nerve signaling in a specific area, patients often experience significant pain reduction. Injections aim to address pain at its source, treating conditions such as back pain, neck pain, and more. Contact Pain Management Centers of America today to see if nerve block injections might be right for you!https://pmcoa.us/nerve-blocks-neural-blockade/

Degenerative disc disease refers to the gradual deterioration of spinal discs. These discs, which serve as flexible cushions between the vertebrae in the spinal column, play a vital role in absorbing shocks and facilitating comfortable movement, bending, and twisting. It is important to note that the degeneration of spinal discs is a natural part of the aging process, affecting everyone over time. The most common symptoms of DDD are neck pain and back pain. Pain can come and go, lasting for weeks or months. Numbness, or tingling may occur in the arms or legs. Pain may also radiate down the buttocks or lower back and worsen with sitting, bending or lifting. If you are experiencing DDD symptoms, Pain Management Centers of America has treatment options that can help. Contact us today. https://pmcoa.us/

What is Disc Herniation? The bones in our spine are called vertebrae. They are separated from each other by discs which are like jelly donuts and act like cushions between the bones. Not only can these discs be a source of pain, they can also cause pain by pressing up against a nerve. Various levels of disc displacement are: disc bulging, disc protrusion, disc herniation, and disc extrusion. Read more about disc herniation here:

Spinal stenosis occurs when the space within the spine narrows, leading to pressure on the spinal cord and nerves. Some people experience no symptoms, but others may have pain, tingling, numbness or muscle weakness. Symptoms vary based on which part of the spine is impacted. Lower back pain may occur with cramping in the legs while standing or walking, as well as trouble balancing. Neck pain may occur with numbness, tingling or weakness in the arm or hand. Over time, these symptoms can worsen. Spinal stenosis is most often caused by arthritis. Learn more about spinal stenosis and the treatments available at Pain Management Centers of America. Link

Epidural Steroid Injections treat pain that radiates into different areas of your body from the spine. Pinched nerves in the cervical and lumbar spine can cause pain in the neck, shoulders, and arms. Herniated discs, spinal stenosis, or radiculopathy can compress nerves and cause inflammation and pain. A cervical or lumbar epidural steroid injection can be used to reduce this inflammation. To administer the medication, the physician inserts a needle into the space through which the spinal nerves travel. Contrast dye and/or fluoroscopic guidance are used to make sure that the needle is positioned correctly near the painful nerve(s). An anti-inflammatory medication is injected to relieve pressure and decrease swelling. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is a regenerative treatment that utilizes platelets derived from a patient's own blood to facilitate the body's natural healing process and support joint health. During PRP treatment, a small amount of the patient's blood is drawn and processed to concentrate the platelets, which are responsible for initiating healing. These concentrated platelets are then injected back into the injured or affected area where they release growth factors to recruit and activate stem cells and aid in tissue regeneration and repair. By harnessing the power of the body's own healing cells and molecules, PRP therapy can help reduce pain and inflammation while improving function and mobility for a variety of orthopedic conditions.
