Massage is a holistic practice, meaning it supports the whole person, not just one tight spot.

Massage works on your whole body, not just your muscles. It also helps calm the nervous system, improve circulation, release connective tissue, support breathing, and reduce stress. When one system feels better, the rest often follow.

That’s why massage can help with
• Muscle tension and pain
• Stress and overwhelm
• Sleep quality
• Circulation and lymphatic flow
• Mobility and posture
• Overall balance in the body

Holistic care looks at how everything works together because your body does too.

Running a business rarely comes with true off time. Even when the doors close, the nervous system stays on. Decisions, responsibilities, and problem solving do not stop just because the workday ends. Over time, that constant state of activation shows up as tension, pain, poor sleep, and burnout.

Rest is not something you earn after everything is done. It is part of how you stay regulated, resilient, and able to keep showing up for the work you care about. Supporting your body through rest and nervous system regulation is not optional maintenance, it is what allows you to sustain your business long term.

Winter is not a failure of motivation. It is a biological and nervous system shift toward conservation and recovery. When we allow the body to rest, repair, and regulate, we reduce stress, ease chronic tension, and create a stronger foundation for change later.

Rest is not falling behind. It is how the body prepares for growth.

Friendly reminder for anyone who feels behind this year that rest is completely valid. Massage activates the parasympathetic nervous system, which slows heart rate, lowers blood pressure, and reduces stress hormones. It also increases circulation, helping muscles recover and function more efficiently. This deep rest is like giving your body a full night of restorative sleep while you are awake.

Taking time to prioritize rest in this way is not indulgent or “wasted time”; it is an essential part of caring for your body and nervous system so you can show up fully in the year ahead.

Calling all local Evansville photographers.

Your body works just as hard as your camera. Long hours holding heavy cameras can create tension in your shoulders, neck, and elbows. The ulnar nerve in particular can get irritated from holding weight in awkward positions, leading to numbness, tingling, or pain in your forearms and hands. Sitting hunched over your computer afterward only adds to the strain.

Massage is not a luxury it is maintenance. Regular sessions help release tight muscles, improve circulation, and reset your nervous system so you can keep shooting and editing without paying for it later.

If your elbows, forearms, or shoulders are sore it might be time to prioritize yourself. Book a session today and give your body the care it deserves.

Most people think hand pain comes from the hands themselves but a lot of it actually starts in the forearms. The muscles that move your fingers and support your grip live higher up than you think. When your forearms are tight your hands have to work harder which leads to fatigue, soreness, and strain.

Keeping my forearm muscles loose is one of the biggest reasons my hands feel good after a full day of massage. On top of that using good body mechanics like proper posture, alignment, and engaging my core helps take the pressure off my hands and wrists and prevents overusing my thumbs.

One of the tools I use regularly is my AchedAway mini heated scraper. The heat helps relax tissue and the scraping allows me to release built-up tension not just in my forearms but also in my hands, shoulders, calves, and anywhere my body feels tight. It is quick, effective, and easy to fit into my routine.

If you want to try it for yourself you can use my code JACQUELINEDENTE for $25 off. Grab yours here: https://achedaway.com/?ref=JACQUELINEDENTE

A feel-good moment from earlier this week.
Standing and riding the subway while singing and playing an instrument is actually quite impressive. It takes a good amount of core strength and balance. These guys hopped on, performed, and then hopped right off at the next stop.
