Qualifications:
Must be Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in good standing and currently licensed by the state of Indiana. Must be willing to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and work cooperatively with other associates. Must maintain capable regular attendance. Must meet all local health regulations, and pas pre-employment physical exam if required. Must be capable of performing the essential job functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Related experience at a level necessary to accomplish job.
General Purpose:
To help maintain and manage overall operation of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with company policies, standards of nursing practice and governmental regulations so as to maintain excellent care of all residents.
Job Function:
Work directly under the Administrator and Director of Nursing. Consult with Administrator and Director of Nursing and facility staff in planning all aspects of nursing service to include interface with other disciplines and departments. Conduct in-service education with staff in regards to infection control, dementia, and overall nursing practice. Share routine on-call responsibilities with Director of Nursing. Help with establishing priorities and job assignments. Communicate facility policies and provide feedback. Assist Director of Nursing with coaching, redirecting, and discipline as needed of nursing department. Ensure physician orders, medication orders, and care plans are being followed correctly and in compliance with the facility policies and State regulations. Assis t with admissions, transfers, and discharge of residents. Ensure compliance with State, Federal, and Company QA standards. Personally participate in assessments and delivery of care when needed. Meet with DON daily to discuss any concerns of a resident, employee, family member, or any other concern that would affect operation of the facility.

Walking, reaching, climbing, bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing, pulling, distinguish smells and temperatures, ability to read and write, ability to communicate with personnel, ability to understand and follow training, and ability to instruct other staff during in-service education.
