Patient Question: 'Can I swim in my contact lenses?' As Dr. Lenning, I strongly advise against swimming (pools, lakes, ocean) or showering in contact lenses! Water contains microorganisms that can get trapped under the lens and cause serious eye infections, potentially leading to vision loss.
