Garden harvest time! on Monday adult day health gardening enthusiasts pulled in a nice pepper and tomato harvest at Beacon Hill. Their raised bed garden has provided a wonderful outdoor escape throughout the summer. We've even discovered a blackberry patch in the corner of our courtyard. Now, the big question is - will that watermelon progress beyond tennis ball size?

Thank you UW Music for a Cause for treating Beacon Hill Adult Day Health clients to a concert last month, with violin, guitar, keyboard, vocals, and more. Clients were full of smiles, swaying to the beat and singing along!

Dance Class Rocks! Adult Day Health participants at Beacon Hill showed their appreciation for volunteer Julia as she wrapped up her Spring session of seated dance classes this week. This creative movement has been an instant favorite and everyone looks forward to seeing her back later this summer - thanks Julia!

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, Lambda Alpha Zeta Chapter, in Seattle, WA is a long time Community Partner, supporting Thanksgiving Meal Deliveries, social events and "crafts for a cause." In March, ElderFriends was awarded their Finer Partner Award, and the feeling is mutual!

The Sewing Ministry group at University Presbyterian Church has been providing handmade lap quilts, walker bags and clothing protectors for our participants for over 20 years! This dedicated community service strengthens the "fabric" of our society and we appreciate every "stitch" of their time!

Thanks to funding from King County Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services Levy and our friends at SilverKite Community Arts, LLC, we hosted an uplifting Caregiver Arts Workshop on May 17. Care Teams families and volunteers, Adult Day Health families, and a few ElderFriends pairs enjoyed a morning of creativity and self-care. Family Caregivers also learned about resources and added some new skills to their caregiving "toolbox". Thanks to our own Tegenu Negi and Social Committee volunteer, Virginia for their great work leading this endeavor!

Happy Gardening! Seattle Adult Day Health participants enjoyed a sunny afternoon yesterday, tending their lettuce and planting peppers, tomatoes and herbs in their new garden boxes! Wishing you all sunshine and outdoor time for your Memorial Day Weekend!

Thanks to donors who provided supplies to build gardening space for Beacon Hill Adult Day Health Clients, we hosted a May 3 garden work party where volunteers put everything together. This week clients began planting out their summer garden. Big thanks to everyone who made this client idea a reality!

2. Tell the call center you want to leave a message; they will ask for your address so they know what district you live in.

3. Simply leave a version of this message:
"Please increase statewide rates for Community Choice Guides which have been flat for more than a decade. CCG's help prevent evictions and homelessness and prevent escalation to more costly institutions of care."
