Confidential services for teens and adults in Snohomish County, call us today for your no charge appointment 425-339-2175. Pregnancy Test & Options Counseling: For most women, the first visit to our center is to determine whether or not you are pregnant. After a brief medical history, a nurse or your advocate will perform a pregnancy test. Our tests are laboratory rated urine tests which means you don't have to worry about a blood draw, and you will have the results within minutes. (While PRC’s pregnancy tests are generally 98-99% accurate within 7-10 days after conception, this is only a test for the presence of the pregnancy hormone. We recommend a follow-up test with a physician, as only a licensed physician can diagnose pregnancy.) If your pregnancy test is positive, your advocate will offer information regarding all your options for pregnancy, emphasizing the value of scheduling a free Limited Ultrasound with the Ultrasound Nurse to assist you in the decision making process. You will have the opportunity to explore the pros and cons of all your options, take all the time needed to ask whatever questions you have and learn about the comprehensive community network of resources and referrals available to you. *
Limited Obstetric Ultrasound: If you are uncertain about which choice to make regarding your pregnancy or are thinking about abortion, we recommend that you have a Limited Obstetric Ultrasound at no cost to you to answer some of these questions regarding your pregnancy: How far along am I? Does my pregnancy appear viable (the baby has a heartbeat)? Is my pregnancy growing inside the uterus? The Ultrasound Nurse can also answer questions you may have regarding elective abortion.*
The PRC offers limited ultrasound examinations for purposes of confirming an intrauterine pregnancy, detecting fetal cardiac activity and estimating gestational age. (Our ultrasounds are not for the purposes of diagnosing or detecting any medical problem or condition for the baby or client.) Your client advocate will discuss the possibility of ultrasound during your initial testing or consultation appointment and can schedule an ultrasound appointment for you. Resources & Referrals: Because we specialize in assisting women with unplanned pregnancies we have established many connections in our community with helpful resources. Everything from help getting medical coupons to referrals to health care providers to housing to clothing and diapers. If there is a free or low cost service related to women's health, pregnancy, birth or parenting in our area, we know about it and can help you find the support you need!
