Patient Story ⭐️

Meet Will, a student at McClure Middle School and an incredible young patient we’ve had the privilege of working with.

Will has rigid bilateral equinovarus, dystonia, and extremely sensitive skin. After going years without successful orthotic support, he and his grandmother met with practitioner Kat Davis, LCPO, who took on the challenge of creating fully custom AFOs designed specifically around his needs.

With the help of our fabrication team, Kat designed these custom AFOs to help Will safely participate in supported standing and recumbent bike programs, activities that are critical for his development.

They may take some time to get used to, but Will is already slowly acclimating to them, and we are excited to watch his progress over the coming months.

This case is also a great example of the impact of Cornerstone’s in-school orthotic services, which allow us to work closely with families, therapists, and educators to provide more accessible and coordinated care.

At Cornerstone, no case is too challenging, and every patient reminds us why this work matters.

Support, stability… and a little Lakers pride.

This custom pediatric neuro brace helps provide the structure our patient needs while adding a design that makes it uniquely theirs.

Because sometimes the small details make the biggest difference. 🏀

Cornerstone Team Highlight: Casey Mitchell, CPO, LPO

Casey became a Prosthetist and Orthotist because she wanted to make a tangible difference in people’s lives, helping patients regain mobility, independence, and confidence.

After earning her MSOP from Baylor College of Medicine and completing her residency (including time here at Cornerstone), she now serves patients in our Everett and Kirkland offices.

When she’s not in the clinic, Casey enjoys teaching and doing yoga and spending time outdoors.

We’re proud to have Casey on the Cornerstone team! 💙

Prosthetic care should feel personal.

From performance to team pride, customization allows patients to carry what matters most with them, every step of the way.

Because it’s not just a device.
It’s part of your story.

Earlier this year, we had the opportunity to spend the day at Pine Tree Elementary sharing what we do in Orthotics & Prosthetics.

Students assembled prosthetic legs, tried on orthoses, and asked thoughtful questions about careers in O&P.

Moments like this matter.
Because today’s curious minds could be tomorrow’s clinicians, technicians, and innovators.

We’re grateful to be part of the journey.

Sometimes it doesn’t lay perfectly the first time.

That’s okay.

Custom means adjusting, shaping, and working the material until it fits exactly the way it should.

This is the part you don’t always see, but it matters.

He’s not thinking about prosthetics.
He’s thinking about the foam pit.

And that’s exactly the point.

When a child has the right support, they get to focus on being a kid, jumping, playing, exploring, growing.

This is why we do what we do. 💙

Technology matters. Innovation matters. Craftsmanship matters.

But the person sitting in front of us, their goals, their story, their life, will always matter more.

That’s what guides every decision we make.
