There are several different types of hair loss.
These are the most common…
1. Androgenetic alopecia: This is the most common type of hair loss, also known as male or female pattern baldness. It typically affects the top and front of the scalp, resulting in thinning hair or bald spots.
2. Alopecia areata: This type of hair loss causes patchy hair loss on the scalp or other areas of the body. It is an autoimmune disorder in which the immune system attacks hair follicles.
3. Telogen effluvium: This type of hair loss occurs when there is a sudden and significant shedding of hair, usually caused by stress, illness, or hormonal changes.
4. Traction alopecia: This type of hair loss is caused by repeated pulling or tension on the hair, typically due to tight hairstyles like braids, weaves, or ponytails. It can result in hair loss in the affected areas and may be permanent if not addressed early.
