We are pleased to announce that Alzein Pediatrics will now be implementing the Cholestech LDX testing System, recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. At your child's 11 year and 16 year well visits, with just a quick fingerstick, we'll test for cholesterol, lipids, and blood glucose to assess their risk of heart disease and diabetes.

"A study published in JAMA shows that preteens who use social media more frequently perform worse on reading, vocabulary and memory tests than those who use it less. The study, which used data from the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development Study, found that even low levels of social media use can negatively affect cognitive abilities."

Your child's first vision screening should happen right in the delivery room, minutes after they are born. The healthcare provider will check for a red reflex and blink and pupil response.
Your Alzein Pediatrics provider will then check your infant's eyes at well visits between 6 months and a year.
