Nursing is different at Mount Evans Home Health Care & Hospice.

“I used to spend hours every day commuting down the hill, working 12-hour shifts under fluorescent lights. I’d come home exhausted. Now, my workday starts with the sun over the ridge, and I get to care for the people who make this community what it is. I finally feel like I’m home — in every sense of the word.” – Shannon, RN

No more “down the hill” commute. No more hospital chaos.
Just nurses who love their work and their view.

Here are some helpful reminders from West Metro Fire Rescue as we prepare for the wind event tomorrow. Be prepared and stay safe!

If it's not tied down, it could be airborne- those holiday inflatables included. We're expecting a hurricane-type wind event all along the Front Range tomorrow (Wednesday the 17th), with gusts up to 85+ mph. And, some indications are that the wind could stick around through Friday. But, let's take it one day at a time. ⏰

What that means for you:
- 🔌power outages - Xcel Energy has indicated that it could be shutting off power to some areas. So- be ready. Charge devices, have flashlights ready.

IF YOU USE OXYGEN:
- 💨Make sure portable tanks are full. Oxygen concentrators require electricity and will not work during an outage.

IF YOU HAVE A GENERATOR:
- 🏠Always run it outside, at least 20 feet from your home. NEVER use a generator indoors or in a garage- doing so can cause deadly carbon monoxide poisoning.
- 🤢Know the warning signs: If you feel dizzy, sick, or lightheaded, move to fresh air immediately and call 911.
- 🔥Reduce fire risk: Keep generators well away from combustibles, including wood, outdoor furniture, and fuel containers.

FIRE DANGER:
- 🔥🔥We'll have a RED FLAG WARNING, which means that any wildfire that ignites will spread quickly. It may be December but in Colorado, wildfire season is year-round. 🔥🔥

BE PREPARED:
- ✅ sign up for alerts in case of an emergency or an evacuation:
- Jefferson County: https://www.jeffco.us/473/Emergency-Notifications
- Douglas County: follow the Sheriff's Office social media: https://www.douglas.co.us/stay-connected/
