Clogged ducts can feel alarming — but understanding what’s really happening can make them much easier to manage.
What many people call a “clog” is most often inflammation in the breast tissue that narrows the duct and traps milk. The goal isn’t to force anything out, but to calm the inflammation so milk can flow normally again.
This is why supportive, gentle care works best:
❄️ Cold instead of heat
🤲 Gentle, lymphatic massage
🛌 Feed or pump as you normally would
💊 Treat inflammation
Small shifts in how you respond can make a big difference in comfort and recovery. And can save you from another round of antibiotics.
