The #1 question I get in prenatal consults? 🤰✨
“What pump should I get?”

It can feel overwhelming when you’re handed a pile of pumps, bottles, and fl**ges from family and friends — but it doesn’t have to be.

Here’s the quick breakdown:
✔️ A basic hand pump is a must-have
✔️ A double electric (especially through insurance) is the most reliable
✔️ Wearables are great extras but not always strong enough as your primary pump

Remember no matter which pump you use, it’s absolutely vital to have the correct fl**ge size. An IBCLC can help with all of this.

Most common reason for painful latch is a shallow latch. Check, is baby:
💧nose to ni**le
💧tummy to tummy
💧supported by his body and neck and not his head
💧opening wide like in a big yawn
💧leading with her chin and coming up and over

Other reasons could be baby is not close enough to the 🍈🍈, maybe the letdown is super strong, or baby’s holding tension in their body. Or so many more!

If you need help adjusting positioning or improving latch, reach out to an IBCLC - you should not tolerate pain. Identifying the reason and helping your kiddo more comfortably latch will both improve pain and protect milk supply ❤️

1) Foothills Lactation Circle will now be held at the newly remodeled EVERGREEN LIBRARY beginning in February

2) We are back to offering this free resource to our community of breast/chestfeeding parents TWICE A MONTH
