Be still and allow life to happen. When we are still is when we can find that inner peace. Peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart.

Let me tell you a story. A villager lived in a small house with his wife, mother-in-law, six children, a cow, and some chickens. It was driving him crazy. So he went to the village rabbi and asked for help. The rabbi said he could solve the problem: he advised the man to buy a goat. Overjoyed, the man immediately went out and bought a goat. Now he had a wife, a mother-in-law, six children, a cow, some chickens, and a goat. The house was even more chaotic than before. The villager returned to the rabbi and described the increased chaos. Once again the rabbi said he could solve the problem. He told the man to sell the goat. Obediently, the villager went home and sold his goat. Suddenly, all he had in his small house were a wife, his mother-in-law, his six kids, a cow, and some chickens. Things were positively peaceful without that goat. Your life is as it is. How you feel about your life is up to you. - Judith Lasater

Self judgement is real. We are our worst critics. Be mindful of these things.

* It’s okay that I am not perfect.
* It’s okay to be different from others.
* It’s okay to feel scared and cautious.
* It’s okay to make mistakes.
* It’s okay to give myself a break.

And most of all remember that you are enough. Use your mind to better yourself with more positive thoughts 🙏🏼

Santosha means to be content.

Contentment is a paradox. If we seek it, it evades us. If we give up on it, it evades us. It is like a shy cat that hides under the bed. If we try to catch it, we never will. But if we sit still and wait in patience, the cat will come to us.

Yoga is about creating space in our bodies and minds so contentment can find a place to live within us. If we practice with humility and trust, then we create a container that attracts contentment.
Mind you, contentment is not the same as happiness. Contentment is being willing to accept both your happiness and your lack of it at any given moment.

Sometimes we are asked to actively remain present with our discontent—to see it as simply what is arising within us, and to look at it with a sense of nonjudgment. This is not a practice for cowards. Santosha is a fierce practice that calls upon our dedication and surrender, in each moment of our lives—not just on the yoga mat. Can we be radically present with ourselves, whether
we get what we want or not? When we practice this, we not only change ourselves, but we also affect the people and situations around us in ways that makes the world a better place.

Perseverance is the ability to keep going after defeat. Don’t define each stumble or failure along the way, as they are only there to make you stronger. Try to see the other qualities and lessons that come forth and shape who you are as you go.

It’s easy to see successful people and think they were born that way. The reality is that every successful person was ambitious and relentless. Persistence is the vehicle you should be most interested in.

Sometimes feelings of defeat, failure and anxiety will sneak up on you. When they do, try to feed your courage instead of fuel your fear. Overcome the resistance with unrelenting persistence.

Parts of the journey will be hellish and hard, but the only thing that can make it worse is quitting. Keep going. Make the struggle worth it by persisting.

If you want to become a champion in life keep going. No matter what hardships you face, learn to keep playing the game until you succeed.

Some days the actions you take will be big, other days your best will be very little, but keep moving forward to persevere and succeed.

Progress in life often involves trial and error, and that persistence will lead to success.- Adam Toren

Many people focus on the past or the future to avoid experiencing the present, often because the present is painful or difficult to endure … The pain is there as a teacher, because life is filled with pain. In the struggle alone, there is knowledge. Only when there is pain will you see the light. Pain is your guru. As we experience pleasures happily, we must also learn not to lose our happiness when pain comes. As we see good in pleasure, we should learn to see good in pain. Learn to find comfort even in discomfort. We must not try to run from the pain but to move through and beyond it. This is the cultivation of tenacity and perseverance, which is a spiritual attitude toward yoga. This is also the spiritual attitude toward life. ~ BKS Iyengar

YOGA4EWA

YOGA4EWA opened its doors in 2006 and has been serving the community since. At YOGA4EWA, we offer a safe, supportive and non-competitive environment where students can learn to nourish, heal and integrate the body, mind and soul. By offering quality instruction, we help our students find a greater awareness of who they are by educating them in the fundamental ways in which they can rely upon themselves to create balance and harmony in their lives. We provide the student with a variety of options in a non-dogmatic, non-judgmental approach with the belief that yoga should be accessible to all people regardless of their experience or current fitness level.

Our studio provides a serene and spiritually uplifting setting in which each class is presented with the spirit of yoga in mind.

Come and join us and be uplifted and edified! We offer 200hr Teacher Trainings, Workshops and Retreats! We offer childcare on site for most morning yoga classes! Moms come and take advantage of that!!
