I used to think hair loss was just about what products I was using.
Turns out, I was ignoring the biggest factor — inflammation.
My scalp was red, irritated, and I didn't even realize it. I kept layering on products, switching shampoos, trying the next viral thing… and nothing worked. Because the real problem was underneath everything I was applying.
Inflammation.
Once I understood that, everything changed. And the fixes weren't complicated. They were simple shifts I could do the same day.
Here are 3 things I started doing that made a real difference:
🧊 Cool Down Your Scalp
I stopped washing my hair with hot water. That one change alone reduced my scalp irritation within a week. A cool rinse at the end of wash day calms redness, closes the cuticle, and creates a healthier environment for your follicles to actually do their job.
🥑 Eat to Fight Inflammation
I added more salmon, turmeric, leafy greens, berries, and avocado into my meals. Not a complete diet overhaul — just intentional swaps. Because what you eat shows up on your scalp whether you realize it or not.
💆🏾♀️ Gentle Scalp Massage (2 Minutes a Day)
Every night before bed, I use my fingertips — not nails — and do small circles across my scalp. It increases blood flow, reduces tension, and helps nutrients actually reach the follicles. It takes less time than scrolling your phone.
None of these require expensive products. None of them require a salon visit. They just require you to start.
Self-care is the foundation of every successful hair journey. And it starts with the basics.
