6,000 MRI scans. 7 years. One conclusion:

The 3 things most people use to measure health (weight scale, calories, cholesterol) don't measure the thing that's actually killing them.

The bathroom scale cannot distinguish between muscle and visceral fat.

I weigh more now that I'm healthy. If I had trusted the scale, I would have abandoned the only protocol that worked.

Weight is not health. It never was.

Calories in, calories out ignores the one thing that matters: what the calories do once they arrive.

A doughnut spikes insulin. Insulin stores visceral fat. A steak does not. Same calories. Opposite outcomes.

We watched patients lose large amounts of visceral fat with dietary changes alone. No exercise.

The driver is processed food, specifically processed carbs and seed oils. Remove the cause, and the body removes the disease.

The exercises most people do, like jogging on the treadmill, burn calories, but do not trigger the hormonal response that mobilizes visceral fat.

Sprinting does. It triggers growth hormone and adrenaline. Short bursts, not long slogs.

So three steps. That is the entire protocol for eliminating visceral fat.

1. See the fat (MRI).
2. Stop feeding it (eliminate processed food).
3. Attack it (sprint).

Most doctors don't learn much about diet and nutrition. It's a huge gap in doctor education.

You hit your calorie target and your tracker says you are on plan.

You eliminate fat from your diet and your nutritionist says you are doing everything right.

The cruelest failure in medicine is not getting the wrong answer, but getting the right answer to the wrong question and living inside that false certainty for decades.
