🖐 Welcome to the Flock

Whether you’re new here or have been following along for a while, I thought it might be time for a proper hello.

I’m Dr. Alison Roy — psychologist, educator, mom of three, runner of very long distances (longest to date: 100 miles!), and current caretaker of a small chicken crew (tiny dinosaurs 🦕 , really). I spend my days supporting schools, families, and individuals in understanding stress, the nervous system, and what helps humans feel safer, steadier, and more connected.

Around here, I share bits of real life, nervous-system wisdom, and gentle reminders that you’re not doing this whole “humaning” thing alone.

I also have a monthly email where I share more personal reflections, take deeper dives into regulation and connection, and offer a steady, grounding presence in your inbox.

Both spaces hold heart — just in different ways.

Whether you’re here for the scroll or looking for a more intentional check-in, I’m glad you found your way. You belong here.

🍁 Life in October can feel like one long carpool — soccer cleats in the backseat, dinner on the go, homework in between everything. It’s a beautiful kind of chaos… and sometimes, we forget to breathe in it.

“Low and slow” doesn’t mean canceling all the things. It can simply mean noticing the small moments within the busy — a warm meal, a quiet drive, a blanket on the couch before bed.

This season, we’re choosing to find the pause, not the perfection. 🍂

Tell me: What’s one tiny way your family slows down and reconnects right now?

✨ New site, same me ✨

I’m Dr. Alison Roy — a psychologist, speaker, and consultant, and I’ve spent my career supporting children, families, and schools in building resilience, connection, and hope.

I’m also a mom of three, an ultrarunner, and a mountain explorer 🌲🏔 My family and I love exploring the White Mountains and staying active together whenever we can. Adventure, connection, and growth are central not only to my personal life but also to the way I approach my work.

I’m so excited to share my newly refreshed website with you — it’s a place to learn more about what I do and how I can support you, your family, or your school.

Our system is broken and strained and our most vulnerable populations are suffering. Our mental health care workers are suffering. School staff are getting the trickle down effect of dysregulated kids and they're suffering. We need a fix NH 💙

The news has been plentiful about the health care workforce shortage. We hear about this deep-seated problem on the national level as well as here in New Hampshire.
