Have you ever noticed it can sometimes be easier to offer comfort to a friend or loved one rather than to yourself? In this workshop, we explore the components of a self-compassion practice and
discover its benefits. More specifically, we will soothe and comfort ourselves with specific physical self-compassion gestures. Through these gestures of tenderness, we can activate areas of our brain that increase the feeling of being cared for and supported.
We will also explore the yogic practice of hand mudras which are “energetic seals or gestures”. These mudras align with self-compassion gestures and communicate certain intentions and attitudes. With self-compassion in mind, we will move into a gentle posture practice, a guided relaxation and guided meditation that seamlessly weave these self-compassion gestures and mudras throughout. You will be provided with a list of resources to help you continue to dive deeper into self-compassion practices.
All are welcome. Continuing education credits are available.
