I so appreciate this affirmation. It reminds me that we can allow ourselves an intentional short period of time in our day to feel the things that make us sad, things that worry us, things that bring us down… and THEN we can make the choice to pivot and tend to ourselves by putting those worries and sadnesses aside. Some days this may feel super hard to do, but we can practice moving forward by taking charge of focusing on US - our strengths and joys.

Social connection is so important for our mental & emotional health.

For years now, a wonderful person in my support network and I meet up for our “First Friday of the month” coffee dates. ☕️ I am filled up every single time.
I treasure this mutually important and intentionally set aside time together.

One self-care action step that we can consider in this New Year is to take the time to talk to somebody we feel safe with- sharing happinesses and, just as importantly, frustration and pain as well. To be seen and heard is so important and that happens when our people can just be with us and listen, and share their own real life experiences as well.
