In hot summer weather, milk, including breast milk, needs careful storage to prevent spoilage. Keep milk refrigerated at 33°F to 38°F (0.5°C to 3°C) and avoid leaving it out at room temperature for more than two hours. Use insulated coolers with ice packs for outings and store milk in the coldest part of the refrigerator, away from the door.

Limit time at room temperature:
Don't leave milk out at room temperature for more than two hours. If it's above 90°F (32°C), the limit is one hour, according to the USDA

Enjoy getting out with your infant and saving your milk appropriately.

Today is the last day to get pre-approved insurance coverage for lactation services if you have BCBS/Anthem. If you are pregnant please sign up now. After today, all BCBS/Anthem patients will have to pay out of pocket for services, and then seek reimbursement with insurance provider.

We are all done breastfeeding but I had tons of milk bags left over, I made my toddler smoothie packs for the freezer, I cut up peaches and strawberries and froze yogurt in ice cube trays and added 2 to each bag. I just toss them in the baby bullet and add some apple juice or water..
