One of the biggest things I work on with my clients is tuning into their mind-body connection when preparing for birth.
This can look like:
✨ tuning into your breath
✨ noticing the sensations happening in the body
✨ practicing mindfulness
✨ attending yoga classes
✨ journaling
✨ talk therapy
& more!
The mind-body connection has been shown to decrease stress and inflammation. It has also been shown to reduce pain and fatigue.
This kind of work can be life-changing for my clients with chronic illness.
So why not tune into the mind-body connection as a lifelong journey? Use your birth preparation as your catalyst and take it with you for the rest of your life.
If you want to explore this topic further, I recommend the book "Healing Mindset" by Eileen Laird. It's not a birth book, but you can use it to begin to explore the mind-body connection.
