May is ALS Awareness Month, an important moment to spread awareness for the disease, support those living with it, and advocate for further research.
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, commonly referred to as ALS, is a progressive disease that affects the brain's connection with the body's muscles, leading to the inability to walk, speak, and eat over time. Diagnosis for ALS can take months or even years, and the exact cause is unknown. According to the ALS Association, every 90 minutes, someone is diagnosed with ALS and someone passes away from it.
This month, Aveanna is committed to raising awareness for ALS and supporting individuals and families who are affected by it. To learn more about ALS and how you can get involved, visit https://pulse.ly/0hhhonbgbg
