For many people living with hypermobility, POTS, dysautonomia, or chronic illness, movement doesn’t feel neutral.

Symptoms can change day to day. Body signals may feel delayed, inconsistent, or hard to interpret. What helps one day may feel overwhelming the next.

That can make traditional movement advice feel frustrating, or even unsafe.

Yoga therapy offers a different approach. 🧘🏽‍♂️

Rather than focusing on pushing through discomfort or increasing flexibility, yoga therapy emphasizes stability, nervous system awareness, pacing, and personalization. It’s an individualized, body-based practice designed to help people build trust, safety, and support within their own capacity.

At Healing Hearts Wellness, we offer yoga therapy for individuals navigating hypermobility, dysautonomia, chronic illness, trauma, and nervous system dysregulation.

You don’t have to force your body to fit approaches that weren’t designed for it.

A lot of conversations about neurodivergence focus only on deficits, difficulties, or what needs to be “fixed.”

But many neurodivergent traits also come with strengths. 💪🏽

That doesn’t mean the challenges aren’t real. Navigating attention differences, sensory overwhelm, burnout, or emotional intensity can be genuinely hard. But it also means there may be parts of yourself that were misunderstood instead of supported.

For many neurodivergent adults, healing includes learning to see their brain through a more compassionate and balanced lens. ⚖️

A lot of neurodivergent adults grew up thinking something was wrong with them. 🤔

That they were lazy, inconsistent, too sensitive, or just not trying hard enough.

But many of these experiences aren’t character flaws, they’re patterns connected to how the brain processes attention, sensory input, emotion, and energy. 🧠

For many people, especially those who were missed or misunderstood earlier in life, discovering this can be a huge shift. It can replace shame with understanding and open the door to finding support that actually fits.

This isn’t about diagnosing yourself from a social media post.

But if you’re recognizing yourself in these patterns, it might be worth getting curious.

At Healing Hearts Wellness, we offer trauma-informed therapy for neurodivergent adults, as well as adult ADHD assessments to help bring more clarity and understanding to your experience.

You’re not broken. You may just need a different framework. 💙

Many people come into therapy thinking progress means feeling calm, grounded, or peaceful most of the time.

But calm and regulation aren’t the same thing.

Regulation is about having the capacity to stay present, move through emotions, and recover when your system gets activated. Sometimes that includes calm. Other times it includes anger, grief, urgency, or intensity without becoming overwhelmed or disconnected.

In some cases, what looks like “calm” can actually be a shutdown or freeze response. 😐 That’s why therapy isn’t about performing calmness, it’s about understanding how your nervous system works and building flexibility over time.

You might feel regulated in one area of your life and overwhelmed in another. That doesn’t mean you’re doing anything wrong. Nervous systems respond to context, history, and safety... not willpower.

At Healing Hearts Wellness, we approach therapy with this in mind. Regulation is something that develops through pacing, relationship, and support... not pressure.

You don’t have to be calm to be doing meaningful work.

We currently have openings with clinicians who offer evening availability and accept Aetna, Highmark, and Quest insurance plans. We'd love to support you 💛

Nervous system regulation isn’t about being calm all the time.

It’s about building the capacity to stay present, move through emotions without getting overwhelmed, and respond with intention instead of reacting on autopilot.

When your nervous system feels supported, it becomes easier to think clearly, communicate your needs, tolerate discomfort, and access the tools you already have.

This isn’t something you either have or don’t have. It’s something that can be practiced and strengthened over time, in small, consistent ways. 💛

Many of us were taught to manage our emotions rather than feel them.

To calm down. Stay composed. Push through.

But emotions like anger, grief, and overwhelm don’t disappear when they’re suppressed. They often get stored in the body and show up in other ways... burnout, tension, resentment, disconnection.

What shifts when we stop trying to control these emotions and start listening to them?

That’s the intention behind The Rage & Clarity Retreat.

This is a space to move beyond suppression and into expression... through practices like screaming in the woods, rage painting, and guided somatic work. From there, we shift into integration with Reiki, sauna and cold contrast, and a clarity session to help you process what came up and how you want to move forward.

Your athletes aren’t just struggling physically, they’re struggling mentally too. ⛹️‍♀️

And the old “push through it” approach isn’t working anymore.

Here’s what we know:
• 25% of elite athletes experience anxiety
• 20% experience depression
• Less than half feel comfortable talking to their coach about it

This isn’t just a challenge, it’s an opportunity. 💡

Coaches who understand mental health aren’t just supporting their athletes…
they’re unlocking performance, resilience, and long-term success.

The New Standard is a 2-hour virtual workshop designed for coaches who want to:

✔ Understand why athletes freeze, shut down, or act out
✔ Replace “toughen up” with evidence-based strategies
✔ Build resilience without shame
✔ Create a team culture where athletes thrive

There’s a growing awareness that neurodivergence and chronic illness often overlap, and for many people, that experience can feel confusing, frustrating, and isolating. 😔

If you’ve ever felt like your body and brain are both working overtime, we see you.

Many neurodivergent individuals also experience chronic fatigue, pain, or nervous system dysregulation. It’s often a reflection of how much your system is managing at once.

And unfortunately, these experiences are often minimized or misunderstood.

You might have been told:
• you’re just anxious
• you need to push through
• nothing is “medically wrong”

But your experience is real.

Support doesn’t have to look like pushing harder. It can look like learning how your nervous system works, honoring your capacity, and building strategies that actually support you.

At Healing Hearts Wellness, we offer trauma-informed therapy that considers both mind and body, including support for neurodivergence and chronic stress.

If this resonates, we'd love to connect with you.

Grounding gets talked about a lot, but it doesn’t always work the way people expect. 😒

If you’ve ever tried to “feel your feet” or “notice your breath” and felt… nothing, you’re not alone.

When you’re dissociated, your system may need something more active or sensory to register safety. Small shifts like movement, temperature, or sound can sometimes reach places traditional grounding doesn’t.

Dissociation isn’t failure. It’s your nervous system doing its job.

The work isn’t about forcing yourself to be present, but finding approaches that actually meet your body where it is.

If you’re struggling with dissociation or feeling disconnected, therapy can help you better understand your nervous system and find tools that work for you.

You don’t have to figure it out alone.

Thinking about opening your relationship can bring up a mix of curiosity, excitement, and uncertainty.

Ethical non-monogamy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and it isn’t a solution for relationship distress. It’s a different way of relating that often requires more communication, not less. 💬

Before making any changes, it can be helpful to explore:

• what you’re actually hoping for
• what your long-term relationship vision looks like
• how communication is currently working between you and your partner

For many individuals and couples, therapy can provide a supportive space to navigate these questions, understand emotions like jealousy, and build agreements that feel aligned and sustainable.

At Healing Hearts Wellness, we offer poly-affirming, trauma-informed therapy for individuals and couples exploring ethical non-monogamy.

If you’re considering this path, you don’t have to figure it out alone. 💛

Breathwork is often recommended as the go-to tool for calming the nervous system. 🧘🏽‍♂️

And for many people, it helps.

But for others, focusing on breathing can actually feel activating or uncomfortable. If that’s been your experience, it doesn’t mean you’re doing it wrong.

Our nervous systems are shaped by our history, our bodies, and our experiences. What helps one person regulate may feel overwhelming for someone else.

Regulation isn’t about forcing a specific technique, it’s about discovering what signals safety to your nervous system.

For some people, that might be breath.
For others, it might be movement, pressure, sound, temperature, or grounding through the senses.

Learning how your nervous system responds is a powerful step toward building practices that actually support you.

You don’t have to force tools that don’t fit your body. 💙
