Starting Monday:

Tundra Tonics Everything-Must-Go-Sale.

Now that the holidays are over I feel like there's enough time and things are organized here in the kitchen well-enough to open it up starting Monday the 6th through Saturday from 12pm - 7pm (or later if people are stopping by).

I'll continue to open up every week through January until everything is gone.

In addition to the packaged product that remains (which is certainly less than usual), there is:

-bulk herbs, single ingredient traditional teas, ingredients, spices

-I'll also have some of our blends (like Cocoa Shroom Mushroom "Coffee") available by the pound.

-Mixing bowls, utensils, funnels, a handful of large cutting boards etc

-A full-size speed-rack with all of the baking sheets

-two stainless steel tables in great condition

-a large triple sink that I bought brand-new and had shipped here

-an oven, refrigerator, electric kettles, grinders

-TONS of food-safe buckets

-So many glass jars, spice jars, bottles etc

-Some tools, some musical instruments, a few shelves

-and lots more.

Well, it was a difficult and complex decision, but for many positive and growth-oriented reasons: I'm going to be wrapping up Tundra Tonics and shutting it down and liquidating everything over the next month or so. I'm going to be pursuing a number of projects full-time once I make the transition. Music, writing (both non-fiction and fiction), visual art, film / videos, to name just a few projects that are the tip of the tip of the iceberg everything else that I've laid out in front of myself for the next chapter of my life.

I want to say THANK YOU to everyone who helped me every step of the way, no one can do anything alone and I'll always be grateful.

We are packaging and selling the product and materials that remain. I'll be making an announcement most likely on Monday about the hours our facility will be open during the day open-house-style for people to stop by and purchase either product) (there will be deals)

Speaking of, everything on our main website is 40% off until we officially close.

Here's just a few of the things we have here in the kitchen:

-Some shelves remains
-4 burner oven
-stainless steel tables
-food grade buckets
-triple sink (that I bought brand-new for here)
-tables, chairs, printer etc
-a speed rack that comes with a good amount of full-size baking sheets
-50 pounds of candle wax
-glass jars and bottles
-some music equipment
-about five-ish 10' x 10' pop up canopies

And there's definitely a lot more than that.

Mid-to-late next week I'll be uploading the posts to list this facility back up for rent. with all of the relevant details. The landlord is a very kind, respectful, and intelligent person, it was wonderful working with Gerry here. I believe it will be officially available starting Feb 1st.

If anyone has any questions please just send me a message, but bear with me as I'm working through a HUGE workload right now and attending to some things a pinch slower than is usual for me.

Somehow the text in my last post was removed by facebook, maybe it was too long for instagram? Anyways, this was supposed to be part of yesterdays post.

FYI, you should know that we have a 30% off sale happening on the main website until September 7th.

Some updates for Tundra Tonics and myself:

We won't be set up at the farmers market for the rest of the season, I meant to announce that a little earlier.

Pretty soon I'll be making an announcement about our system for placing pick-up orders here in Fairbanks at our facility through the winter and into next year.

After years of overworking myself, I'm finally taking the real steps towards re-balancing my life. I'm sleeping in, spending more time on personal interests, resting, and re-centering.

Many of you already know this, but I've playing a TON of music over the last almost two years. I've been collaborating mostly with my good friend Caleb, working on a ton of solo projects, and collaborating with a diverse mix of people. At whatever pace is appropriate, I will 100% be releasing content online, starting a website etc. Each week I'm learning something new and this has been incredibly fulfilling.

About a year ago I started working on some visual art. I've never spent any time at all practicing anything like this and it has grown to be something I continue to spend more and more happy time losing myself in. I started with dip pens (still work with them too), then incorporated paint markers, micron pens, iridescent pens, gel pens, and regularly use odd and unorthodox objects to apply color (sourdough bread for stippling, spices like turmeric and clove, even some crushed up estrogen I had leftover from my life of years ago). Pretty soon-ish there will definitely be prints and stickers available through Tundra Tonics, but there will be a website and brand exclusively dedicated to my art.

With clearing up more time in my routine, I've been writing a lot. For the website, myself, and a few projects outside of Tundra Tonics. I'm finally going to be able to spend the time required to develop our online presence.

Anyways, I think that's it for now.

This is an introduction to a new aspect of being connected to people through Tundra Tonics for me. In addition to the Research Blog on our main website, I finally broke the trail on our newest page: Health is Not Just Nutrition. Given the time of year, this seems like the perfect subject to kick off what I hope will be an ever-evolving conversation about life.

Most everybody by now has at least heard of Seasonal-Affective-Disorder (and THINKS they know what it is). But, have you ever heard of SPRING-Seasonal-Affective-Disorder? Most people "seem" to not know what it is or even sometimes roll their eyes and say it's not real, but you're not imagining it. And guess what, there's actually a decent-enough (yet newly bourgeoning) body of robust research that verifies this. I'm 38 years old, and only two or three years ago discovered that this is actually a real thing. Find the link on our bio for the main website to read about all of the research, knowns, unknowns, questions, and real-life anecdotes regarding this massively heavy phenomena.

What you eat is not the only thing that counts towards your health. My family came to visit me for the first time in YEARS last fall. We harvested stinkweed together, and we harvested eachother. If you are able to, please connect with everyone in your life connecting to.

Did you know: you can return your 16oz & 8oz bottles at the to receive a deposit back, and you don't even have to buy anything. Keep in mind they have moved to a new location. Each 16oz bottle (from Tundra Tonics) gets a $1 ,and each 8oz & 2oz bottle get .50 cents. We sanitize and re-use them, and it's a big help (even on a global level). Any questions, just let us know.

Here we are for another Holiday Marketplace at the Carlson Center. We are low in stock with a good deal of our teas, but there's fermented hot sauce on the table and plenty of fire tonics, herbal syrups, and tinctures.

Our Story

Tundra Tonic is raw, unpasteurized apple cider vinegar with the mother, infused with onion, garlic, ginger, turmeric, jalapeno, habanero, cayenne, peppercorn, horseradish, lemon, rosemary, basil, sage, and thyme! We use many locally grown ingredients when we can. In the past that has meant that we use stuff from the Arctic Roots Farm (which is now the home of Goosefoot farm), Little Plum Garden, Calypso Farm, Risse Greenhouse, and Ann’s Greenhouse.

All of the ingredients get chopped up very fine and soak in the vinegar for five weeks until each batch is done. This sort of concoction is often referred to as “Fire Tonic” or “Fire Cider” , but our recipes were born right here in Fairbanks.

It’s taken as a supplement alongside a meal. The most common ways are in cold, sparkling, or warm water with honey (especially when its’ with warm water). Many people prefer using it on salads, stir-fries, smoothies, teas, and in many other types of food and drink.

In addition to the Original Recipe, there are three others. Dragon’s Blood has the same ingredients as the Original but ALSO has hibiscus, lemongrass, and blue butterfly tea. (there’s no caffeine it’s just a flower).
