It is with a heavy heart we share that the VA has had one of their nurses wrongly murdered by ICE in Minneapolis. This loss is felt by all medical professionals, by VA staff and many of our Veterans. Please take care of yourselves and each other in these difficult times.

This morning, Alex Pretti was shot and killed in Minneapolis by a group of Border Patrol agents after filming them. Alex Pretti was an ICU nurse at the VA who helped critically ill veterans. Alex's colleagues say he was a wonderful man who loved his patients and enjoyed mountain biking. He will be greatly missed.

I would like to thank everyone who has contributed donations to the beaded glove kits that we are putting together to send to many of the flood survivors who are sheltering in Anchorage. They have lost their homes, their possessions, traditional family heirlooms handed down from generation to generation, their crafting supplies and so much more. For many Indigenous artists, this means they have also lost their ability to generate income for their families. If you would like to donate a kit to someone in need, please leave a comment and I will send you my Paypal or Venmo information. Women’s kits are $60 and Men’s kits are $80. Each kit contains one pair of deerskin gloves/mitts, beaver fur, beads, beading and skin sewing needles, thread and waxed poly thread. It is our hope that these kits will give people something to do to occupy their days while they are being sheltered far away from their homelands. They will warm the hands and hearts of those who have lost so much. If you donate, please feel free to include a message of hope or inspiration to include in the kit. It can be a personal note, a prayer, a Bible scripture, a poem, etc.

Special Thank You to Arctic Raw Fur for donating the gloves/mitts, to Janelle Griffin Chapin for your office space, fur cutting and bead sorting skills and to MussyandRunny for inspiring us all to do more in our own communities. ❤️

GREAT NEWS! We have cleaned up after the fire last Tuesday and will be open for business on Monday, 09/29/2025! As an added bonus, AcuTribe will be hosting on open house on Friday, 10/03/2025 from 5-8pm. Please come support local artist Fred Freer who will be selling his sculptures! Snacks will be served! Come help us celebrate!

Dear Patients and Peeps: The clinic had a small electrical fire, in the middle of the night, caused by the bathroom fan. It was caught and contained early thanks to another building tenant and the Fire Department. The clean-up in the main office and treatment rooms will hopefully be completed by the weekend and we sincerely apologize for all of the cancellations this week. Our bathroom will be out of commission until further notice, but there are other options in the building. It is our goal to re-open by this coming Monday. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
