The mission of our practice is to provide the highest quality of orthopedic surgical and non-surgical care for our patients. Whether you are an elite athlete, weekend warrior, rising youth or aging athlete who doesn’t want to slow down, you can benefit from our expertise. At McKinley Orthopedic and Sports Medicine, our goal is to get you back in the game, whether that means sport, work or simply everyday life. Our entire staff is dedicated to serving our patients in a professional, efficient, and compassionate manner. Our goal is to provide innovative and cost effective musculoskeletal care with integrity and honesty to each individual patient while helping patients regain the best possible function, enhancing their quality of life and meeting their personal goals. Orthopedics is the specialty devoted to the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of diseases and injuries associated with the complex musculoskeletal system. We specialize in many areas of orthopedics and musculoskeletal care including arthritis, fractures, sprains, acute trauma, sports injuries, arthroscopic surgery and open surgery. What is Primary Care Sports Medicine (PCSM)? Primary care sports medicine is a specialty field that involves the treatment and prevention of illness and injury in order to maximize function and minimize disability and time away from sport, work or school. While there is some overlap with diagnoses cared for by orthopedic surgeons, primary care sports medicine is a non-surgical specialty with focus not only on the musculoskeletal system but on all systems of the body affecting physical activity and fitness. Common examples of musculoskeletal problems we treat, include: joint injuries, muscle strains, overuse injuries such as tendonitis and stress fractures. We perform in office procedures to include: joint, muscle and tendon injections, dry needling, osteopathic manual therapy and ultrasound guided injections, aspirations, tenotomy and PRP. Additionally, PCSM physicians serve as team physicians, perform pre-participation sport physicals, concussion management, female athlete triad care, mononucleosis in sport and return to play decision making. Coordinating care with other members of the sports medicine team (trainers, physical therapists, coaches, family, and other healthcare providers) and proper patient education is important to our overall goal of teaching wellness and promoting a healthy lifestyle. Our Physicians Are Board Certified

Board certification is an important achievement in the world of orthopedics and sports medicine. We are dedicated to continuing our medical education and staying current on the standards of musculoskeletal care and the up and coming medical treatments in our field. To become board certified, our surgeons completed 4 years of undergraduate education, 4 years of medical school, and 5 years of post-graduate training, which includes internship and residency. They have also been practicing orthopedic physicians for atleast two years and passed the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons examination. To achieve a certificate of added qualification in sports medicine, our provider also completed the initial 4 years of undergraduate education and 4 years of medical school, followed by 4 years of post-graduate training, to include internship, residency and fellowship. She passed the American Board of Family Physicians Family Medicine and Sports Medicine examinations and the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians examinations.
