Our "now" was paid for by their "everything."
I talk about a lot of areas of healthcare, but the Founding Fathers were the ultimate practitioners. They didn't just build a business; they built a nation from scratch against every possible odd. They stared down tyranny so we could have the luxury of choice today.
Don't waste the opportunity they bought with their lives. Make it count.
"Posterity! You will never know, how much it cost the present generation, to preserve your Freedom!" — John Adams (Letter to Abigail Adams, April 26, 1777)
"The independence and liberty you possess are the work of joint councils, and joint efforts; of common dangers, sufferings, and successes." — George Washington (Farewell Address, 1796)
"Be it remembered, however, that liberty must at all hazards be supported. We have a right to it, derived from our Maker. But if we had not, our fathers have earned and bought it for us, at the expense of their ease, their estates, their pleasure, and their blood." — John Adams (A Dissertation on the Canon and Feudal Law, 1765)
"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." — Thomas Jefferson (Letter to William Stephens Smith, November 13, 1787)
"Where liberty dwells, there is my country." — Benjamin Franklin (Attributed)
Grateful for the fallen, the brave, and the visionaries who paved the way.
