Dedication in the face of... well, a fire alarm! 🚨🔥

That's Sammy, and when the alarm went off, his first thought wasn't just to exit, it was to grab his brace. This isn't just about wearing a brace; it’s about making it a non-negotiable part of your life. We are so incredibly proud of Sammy's commitment! Every day you choose to wear your brace is a step toward a healthier future.

Way to go, Sammy! You're an absolute inspiration. 💪

We are SO incredibly proud to celebrate this phenomenal patient, Bailey! 🥳

Bailey started her bracing journey with our Orthotist Walter in 7th grade, and now, as a dedicated 10th grader, she’s celebrating some truly remarkable results. Just look at her weartime charts! 📈

Her commitment has been absolutely inspirational. Bailey averaged a 22 hours a day of brace wear, leading to the milestone of recently transitioning to nights-only wear! This dedication paid off in a big way: her curve decreased from a 40° to a 34°! 🎉

As Bailey proves, the brace doesn't have to hold you back. She says, "It has not been too bad wearing a brace. You need to wear it for it to make a difference!" 💪

Congratulations on your success, Bailey. Your hard work is an inspiration to the entire scoliosis community!

"Carson was diagnosed with scoliosis at the age of two after an X-ray for pneumonia revealed an 11-degree spinal curve. For several years, his curve remained stable; however, the summer before Kindergarten, it progressed to 20 degrees.

Determined to explore every possible option before pursuing full-time bracing for our five-year-old, we immersed ourselves in research and sought out available resources and support networks. This journey led us to National Scoliosis Center and Higgy Bears.

Thanks to Brent (COO) and Cara (Orthotist) at National Scoliosis Center, our family has had an exceptionally positive experience with the Rigo Chêneau brace—affectionately known as Carson’s turtle shell. Additionally, Higgy Bears has provided both emotional and community support. It has given me, as a parent, an opportunity to connect with other families on similar medical journeys and offered Carson a comforting companion to share in his bracing experience.

In the spirit of giving back, Carson recently donated 50 Higgy Bears to National Scoliosis Center's Baltimore office over Halloween. His hope is that these bears bring comfort, companionship, and joy to other children navigating their own bracing journeys."

We were so thrilled to welcome Ava back to the center last week! Not only is she doing great, but she stopped by to share some truly incredible news: she won the Littlestown Library's teen graphic novel contest (Littlestown, PA)! 🎉

Ava's winning entry chronicles her personal scoliosis journey and even touches on her experience with us here at NSC. What an amazing way to process and share your story! The book is now available for check-out at the library, and Ava even gifted us a copy (currently housed in Fairfax—thanks, Ava!).

Seeing our patients thrive and use their experiences to help others is what it’s all about. Thank you, Ava, for making us so proud!

Meet Vaishvi—a true fighter and our newest scoliosis warrior! 🌟

At 12, she's no stranger to competition, playing both basketball and on a coed flag/tackle football team. After a year of "watch and wait," her curve progressed to 30 degrees and now she's taking the next step with bracing!

We are so impressed with her enthusiasm! Her dedication on the field and court tells us she has the mental toughness to succeed with her brace.Vaishvi, you've got this! We're proud to be on your team. 💪

This brave, charming young man is Moshe (4 years old), and he's showing off his second custom Rigo Cheneau style brace with us here at the National Scoliosis Center (NSC)!

Moshe has Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), a genetic neuromuscular condition that often leads to gravity-induced scoliosis due to muscle weakness. He was just 4 months old when he was diagnosed and began his journey. Now, at NSC, we're dedicated to supporting his incredible development.

Moshe's family travels all the way from Southern Virginia, telling us, "It's worth the drive for sure. It is night and day coming to NSC vs some other medical facilities." They shared how vital the custom brace developed by our expert, Luke, has been for Moshe's unique needs.

For children with SMA, a brace isn't just about support; it's about balance. Moshe's custom brace is designed not only to provide essential spinal stability but also to allow the flexibility he needs for muscle development and, critically, to ensure he has room to breathe and maintain optimal oxygen flow – so important given his respiratory challenges.

We are so honored to be a part of Moshe's journey. His strength, resilience, and infectious smile inspire us all every day.

Thank you to this incredible family for sharing their story of hope and transformation! We are honored to be part of your daughter's care team.

Choosing the right bracing method and the right care team is the most critical decision in your scoliosis journey. We hear stories like this often, and it reinforces why we never stop striving for excellence.

When this family came to us after being told "any old brace would do," they had lost hope due to curve progression. That's unacceptable.

At the National Scoliosis Center, we offer more than just a brace; we offer a true partnership based on continuous research, advanced training, and compassionate, custom care.

"NSC has given us hope that it is not too late to turn things around. They are a team of compassionate, highly qualified professionals who believe in continuous research and training."

We believe your child deserves a brace truly custom-made to their unique 3D measurements. We're proud to offer the highest standard of care, including:

▶️ Truly custom Rigo-Cheneau style bracing

▶️ Measurements that account for trunk rotation

▶️ The use of low-dose EOS imaging

▶️ The ability to measure, produce, fit, and adjust on the same day for our out-of-state families
