Supporting everyone else can leave very little space for yourself.

When you're caring for both older and younger generations, your own needs often come last. But your mental health matters just as much as the people you care for.

Let’s be honest, most “stress tips” don’t work when you’re already overwhelmed. Before you spiral, shut down, or open 17 tabs.

So here’s something realistic:
- do one thing slower today
- take one thing off your list
- say no to one thing

That’s enough.

Caregiving doesn’t always come with an end date.

For many, it stretches across years-sometimes decades. And when stress builds slowly over time, it can be easy to miss just how much you’re carrying.

You don’t need a new awareness month to know you’re stressed. You’ve probably been carrying it for a while. Putting off support doesn’t mean you don’t care. It usually just means it feels like too much to figure out. If therapy has been sitting in the “I’ll get to it” category, you’re not behind. When you’re ready, Ellie can help make that first step feel a little more manageable.

Midlife was never meant to carry this much.

Between parenting, caregiving, and everything else life demands, it’s easy to put your own needs last. But constant responsibility without support can lead to real stress and burnout.

Caring for a parent. Raising a child. Holding everything together in between.

For many, this isn’t temporary-it’s everyday life.

Supporting two generations comes with emotional weight that often goes unseen. And over time, that weight adds up.

Caregivers supporting two generations deserve support too → elliementalhealth.com/

You don’t have to be falling apart to need support. Most stress doesn’t look dramatic. It looks like:

- being tired all the time
- snapping quicker than usual
- overthinking everything at 2am

That’s still stress. And it still deserves care.

This Stress Awareness Month, we’re talking about the everyday kind. The kind people push through instead of getting support for. Therapy isn’t just for crisis. It’s for the life you’re living right now.

Meet Anushka, our newest team member! 🌟 With a background in psychology and a passion for mental health, she is dedicated to supporting our community. Anushka believes in the power of empathy and connection, and she’s excited to bring her unique perspective to our team.

"Hi, I’m Anushka. I’m a Resident in Social Work with a Master’s degree from George Mason University and over two years of hands-on experience supporting individuals through some of life’s most challenging moments. Whatever has brought you here, I want you to know that you are welcome-exactly as you are. 👋🙂

I work with individuals navigating life transitions, struggling with emotional regulation, or feeling overwhelmed just trying to get through the day. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where all parts of your experience are allowed and honored. Together, we’ll explore what you’re facing at a pace that feels right for you. 🐘🐘

My approach is grounded in open communication, integrity, and positivity. I believe therapy works best when it’s collaborative, so I will tailor our sessions to your needs and goals while keeping you informed and empowered to make choices about your care. I also like to incorporate strengths-based activities and personal interests into sessions to help build motivation, resilience, and confidence in navigating challenges. 💪

I became a social worker because I deeply believe that life’s struggles deserve genuine compassion and understanding. ❤️ Some experiences are within our control, and others arrive without warning-but all of them impact us in meaningful ways. Healing isn’t linear, and it looks different for everyone. You don’t have to walk this path alone. Wherever you are right now, that’s exactly where we’ll begin.
