Hot flashes during prostate cancer treatment can be overwhelming — but support is here.
Inova Peterson Life with Cancer is partnering with the Genitourinary Oncology Program on an important research study to help men find relief.
The MPOWER Study (Men with Prostate Cancer – Optimizing Wellness through Enhanced Relief from Hot Flashes) is exploring whether acupuncture can reduce hot flashes for men receiving ADT hormone therapy.
This study is about helping men feel better — physically and emotionally — while navigating prostate cancer treatment.
Inova Peterson Life with Cancer is committed to empowering patients with supportive care, education, and wellness resources — and this study is one more way we’re helping men live better through treatment.

An Arts & Healing event at Inova Schar Cancer Institute brought one of those moments that reminds us why we do this work. Our Executive Director, Jennifer Bires of Inova Peterson Life with Cancer shared a joyful connection with a young visitor who joined our Team Member Art Show Gallery opening.
These programs are built to nurture expression, resilience, and hope—and seeing that spark in a child’s eyes makes every effort worthwhile. 💛
We’re grateful for the families who join us, the artists who guide us, and the community that continues to uplift healing through creativity.
