Dr Dufresne earned his medical degree from Columbia University, completed his general surgery training at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Medical Institutions, and his plastic surgery training at the Institute of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery / New York University Medical Center. He received fellowship training in craniofacial and microvascular surgery at New York University Medical Center. He has been appointed to academic and institutional positions and visiting professorships at the US National Institutes of Health and various institutions in Maryland, Virginia, and DC. RESEARCH
Dr Dufresne’s major research interests are in craniofacial surgery and fat and bone grafting. Dr Dufresne has delivered around 200 presentations and exhibits throughout the United States and world. He has written over 120 papers and book chapters, and Spanish and Czech translations of his work on rare conditions have been published. He is an active researcher with several projects and new papers every year. CHARITY
Dr Dufresne has served on international medical mission trips and donated countless hours to charity, helping patients in need. He has treated patients from every continent and over 20 countries. Patients with severe problems have been evacuated from other countries to receive care from him in the United States of America.
