Plastic surgeons use lots of sutures!
Sutures can be permanent or non-dissolvable, such as nylon, prolene or silk. They also may be dissolvable such as monocryl, vicryl or PDS. Some sutures dissolve quickly, like ‚Fast Absorbing Gut’ and some, like PDS, take longer to dissolve. There are also braided and not braided sutures. There are many types of sutures but your doctor will know which one to use!
