Colorectal cancer is now the #1 cause of cancer death for adults under 50 in the U.S., up from fifth, according to a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA).

With more than 40% of cancers linked to preventable risk factors, and only 60% of adults in our region receiving recommended colorectal cancer screening, the bus plays a vital role in closing gaps in access.

🩺 Dr. Peter Learn, Mather Chair, Surgical Oncology, Inova Schar Cancer and Chief, Division of Surgical Oncology, Inova Surgery Service Line, led the surgery – opening new options for patients who aren't candidates for surgery, radiation or thermal ablation.
