Our RehabVisions Fairfield therapy team is having a glowin’ good time dressing up as skeletons this year! We had so much fun bringing a little Halloween spirit (courtesy of many glow sticks and bright smiles) to the clinic.

Why scapular-stabilizing scaption matters?

Optimal muscle activation: "Full can" scaption with thumb up activates the supraspinatus while reducing excess deltoid dominance (Reinold, et al.).

Joint-friendly mechanics: Encourages natural upward rotation and posterior tilt of the same scapula, lowering the risk of painful impingement (Ludewig and Cook).

Evidence-based rehab: RCTs show scapular-focused exercise programs reduce pain and improve function in rotator cuff-related shoulder pain (Struf, et al., JOSPT review).

Meta-analysis support: Scapular stabilization training improves pain and disability in subacromial pain syndrome (2024 review).

Carryover to sport: Stronger, more stable shoulder mechanics equals better overhead performance and safer return to play.
