Lucy Potts and Christina Simpson are trained and qualified to help you with measurements, fitting, dispensing, and adjusting prostheses, bras, and related supplies.
Neil Austin, our respiratory therapist, enables us to provide you with a range of respiratory care services in our store and in your home. Neil is trained and certified to help you with numerous respiratory needs:
Administering and maintaining home oxygen
Assisting you with CPAP and BiPAP therapy
Other respiratory supplies and treatments
We are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) in Illinois to ensure quality, patient-focused, clearly written standards for our home medical equipment organization. ACHC is a leader in durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS) accreditation. We provide HME services, which is the delivery, set up, and / or maintenance of medical equipment and / or oxygen as well as education regarding the use of the equipment.
We provide respiratory care service (RCS) by a licensed respiratory care practitioner. RCS is on-going hands-on care of the client / patient, which may include an assessment and / or education of a respiratory condition.
In addition, we provide Fitter Services that include orthotic / prosthetic fitting of a variety of products such as diabetic shoes, soft orthotic appliances, and post-mastectomy breast prostheses.
Accreditation is a process in which certification of competency, authority, or credibility is presented. Being accredited, One Step Ahead & HME can assure you that our trained professionals have the skill and judgment to provide service related to the preservation or improvement of the health of individuals or the treatment or care of individuals who are injured, sick, disabled, or infirm.
