I haven’t posted in a while - life gets busy and before you know it, time slips away! But as a trainer and coach, I get to hear all about my clients’ adventures....and sometimes hardships. I have several clients in their 60s who have recently told me about trips they were able to take with their loved ones....to football games, to zoos, to the beach, to concerts...and they told me they were able to fully enjoy those trips because they have great fitness levels. Two told me they walked six miles in one day, and they weren’t tired or sore the next day. Another client who’s retired volunteers with several different organizations and is on the go every day. And another is going to concerts almost every single weekend.
Fitness literally means - Thriving in your environment.
And that’s always something I consider when working with my clients. I also ask, what’s the minimal effective dose?? You don’t have to spend hours in a gym. Most of my clients do two 30-minute sessions a week - we lift weights, using mostly dumb bells, sometimes a physio ball, and round it out with some Pilates and stretching.
So this is just a big thank you to all my clients who’ve allowed me the privilege to be part of their weekly routine! Love you all and am extremely proud of you for showing up for yourselves!
