Please call 251 928 0102 to request your chart copy asap. When you switch to your new provider it will be very helpful in transition.

I will be retiring effective 11/17/2022. That is the last day I will be seeing patients.
Laura will be at the office until Christmas taking care of chart copies.
Thank you again for your trust in me, and overwhelming loving response I have received for my retirement.

Breast implants and associated cancer risk!
“ The Food and Drug Administration has identified 457 unique cases of breast implant–associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) and 9 related deaths since 2010, and received 246 new medical device reports (MDRs) regarding BIA-ALCL between September 2017 and September 2018, according to an update from the agency’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health.
BIA-ALCL is a type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma and a known risk from breast implants that was first communicated by the FDA in 2011. Regular updates have been provided with respect to related medical device reports, cases, deaths, and known risks.”
This information is very important for many of you considering implants.

Endometriosis is the presence of tissue resembling endometrial glands and stroma outside of the uterine cavity. Women with endometriosis often present for medical care with at least one of 3 problems: pelvic pain, infertility, and/or an adnexal mass due to endometriosis.
Two doses of elagolix are now FDA approved for treatment of pelvic pain caused by endometriosis. These two doses allow clinicians to opt for gentle (150 mg once daily) or strong (200 mg twice daily) suppression of estradiol to manage pelvic pain.

A woman is born with all the eggs she will ever have. Oocyte atresia occurs throughout a woman’s lifetime, from 1,000,000 eggs at birth to only 1,000 by the time of menopause.
Although ovarian reserve testing has been used for a long time to predict an age-related decline in oocyte numbers, FDA just recently approved it.

“FDA approves expanded use of Gardasil 9 to include individuals 27 through 45 years old.

This happened last month.

It means, if you are high risk for cervical, oral cancers and you are in this age group, ( persistently positive HPV testing )
your insurance may cover the vaccination.

International Women's Day is celebrated in many countries around the world. It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political. It began in 1909 when thousands of women marched the streets of New York demanding improvement in pay, work hours and voting rights. In 1975 the United Nations proclaimed it Women’s Year and March the 8th was christened Women’s Day!
