Your cortisol spikes when you wake up. That's normal - it helps get you moving.
The problem? Most people stay stuck in that elevated state all day. Stress compounds. The cycle never breaks.
Three simple moves can shift this pattern. First, drink 15-16 ounces of water immediately when you wake up. Your body is dehydrated from hours of sleep. Water signals the reset.
Second, get outside for natural UV light. No yard? Red light therapy panels work too. Seven to ten minutes under red light. Your cells respond to this frequency.
Third, build in calm thinking time. Prayer works for me. Meditation works for others. The method matters less than the practice of quieting your mind before the day takes over.
Three moves. Morning water, light exposure, quiet reflection. Break the cortisol trap before it starts.
