Many of my past customers from my boutique days are Facebook friends of mine now but for those who are not, I wanted to share this exciting update with you all since you have always been fabulous customers turned friends to me here at The Sassy Dot!!

While I have had lots of “side hustles” in the past from leggings to nail polish strips to eyelashes to online clothing boutique and so on…one thing has always remained consistent- my love for travel and especially for Disney! You all know that!!

As I began to look ahead to retirement from teaching in the next 10 years, I knew that I wanted a second career! I am too young to stay home and do nothing! 😉 I thought a lot about what would new path I might enjoy and travel planning came to mind! So I prayed! And I prayed some more! After lots of research on this path, the right opportunity came for me to do this now! Yep! That means I am officially a travel specialist!!! And I am SO EXCITED!!

While I will still teach for a few more years, I will now be able to also do travel planning for you all as well as for brand new clients!! I am beyond excited to start this journey and hope that you will consider me anytime you are thinking of planning a vacation, work trip, group function out of town…whatever the travel need may be!!

Of course, my speciality will be Disney and other Orlando based vacations but I am definitely your girl for all your travel planning needs no matter the destination!! Day 1 (well half a day) is in the books!! It rained some but crowds were not bad at the Magic Kingdom! We were able to tackle quite a few rides while everyone was watching the fireworks!! Win!! Bring on the week!!

I have so much to share with all of my “old friends” here on my old boutique page!! And I promise I will!! Very soon! But I couldn’t wait another second to share about something big!!

I started taking an amazing medical grade, full matrix liquid collagen on Monday Sept 13 and just two weeks in, I am seeing the benefits!

🔹Hip joint pain is gone already
🔹Hair regrowth is sprouting up fast (a perk since I lost lots of hair with my weight loss this year)
🔹Nails are stronger
🔹Skin is beginning to have a glow and looks more moisturized

I cannot wait to see what a month of taking this collagen brings! A tablespoon a day is all you take!! What do you think? Can you see the changes? It’s subtle but it’s definitely there!

It’s been quite a while since I’ve done a post so I figured it was time for one!! Left was a year ago last week! We had just experienced Hurricane Sally and had no water or power. But I was happy as a lark bc I was down 50 plus pounds and nearing my lowest weight in many many years. If my weight loss had slowed down then, I would have been satisfied with the improvement in my health and happiness.

I would have never thought a year later that I would be down 60 more pounds. There was no secret sauce or magical explanation to why I was able to drop 60 more pounds. It was literally just doing the things bariatric patients should do- eat lots of protein, drink tons of water and move move move. I tracked my food. I held myself accountable by doing that. Hated every time I had to track it but it worked and I learned new eating habits.

Today I am in maintenance and so far so good. I have been able to stop tracking now bc of good habits. I respect my bypass and it, in return, guides me in eating the correct amounts. I am beyond grateful that I made the leap and had gastric bypass surgery in June 2020. Absolutely no regrets!!! Not one!

Probably one of my favorite posts ever!!! I didn’t realize it but my driver’s license expired in August so I went immediately and had it renewed!

A lot sure has changed since 2019! I laugh bc my 2019 weight was not even close to the truth! But I refused to put my real weight on my license! For the first time in my life, my license is in fact all true!! Actually my height is closer to 5’3” but with shoes it’s probably 5’4” so it will do! 🤣

Bottomline- my face and weight have changed a lot but so has my heart and my spirit! I am happier bc I am healthier! And that’s the biggest gift of all! ❤️

It’s my Monday and I am down a pound!!! I am so dang close to the 100lb mark but my body is doing it’s darn best to make it slow to get there!! Super happy to have recovered from that small gain I had a few weeks ago!! Could next week be the week???? What do you think!!

Ps- stay tuned for a quick update tomorrow!! I have a check up with my Bariatric surgeon! I’ll update then!!

Every week can’t be a losing week! And this is proof that even if you do all the things, it just sometimes doesn’t show on the scale! I’ve had several great weeks losing as I approach my goal weight so I fully expected a little rebound at some point! It could be my body finally finding its happy place. It could be muscle gain as I’ve continued to run and strength train in the past several weeks! I really don’t worry with it! The scale doesn’t define my journey. My health does. And I am in a healthy weight range and feel amazing! My most recent wellness check up was a week ago and I passed with flying colors!! That is what it’s all about!! We will see what the next few weeks bring! I plan to hit the 100lbs total loss mark and then most likely begin the maintenance phase of my journey! Stay tuned!!

I am beyond thankful for a Savior who died for and rescued me and my family out of the muck of life and covered us in grace and love! Spent a great morning at church with our church kiddos whom we love so much! Had a fabulous dinner at my parents!! K2 even had a visit from the Easter bunny and got some treats after playing that very role the last 3 weekends at the Tanger Mall!! (Swipe to see our bunny pics😂) I would say we had a very blessed Easter season!! ✝️💖

This is historic for me!!! I lost enough this week to slide into the BMI “normal weight” range!!! I just can’t believe it!! I have NEVER been in this range, ever, in my adult life!! Now with that being said, I am not one to put a huge amount of faith in BMI bc I know it’s just one of many factors that determine my true health. But I am celebrating today that I have hit this goal!! Next up...the allusive 100lb mark. I’m 2.1 pounds away y’all...how long will it take?? We shall see!!

Y’all...I did it...I jumped in feet first with a brand new company that I am already fully convinced is going to do huge things!! I had NO intentions of doing any type of side business. Seriously. But I could not pass this up. It checked all the boxes for me personally!

So much accomplished this weekend with our and I am so excited! Today we added new lighting, pillows, wall decor, and a rug!! We just need our two chairs from which are set to arrive next week and we will be ready for many meals in this little room! I can’t wait! And clearly Dodger approves of the space! My name is Leigh!! I am a teacher for the hearing impaired by day and owner of The Sassy Boutique by night (and pretty much all my other free time lol) plus I am married to my sweet hubby, Kevin, who is a children’s pastor. His ministry keeps us busy too! We have one wacky and kind-hearted son, Kevin. Everyone calls him “K2” since he is a junior! K2 loves acting more than anything (well except maybe Fortnite!)
