If you have tried antidepressants that did not work, you may have been told to give it more time or try another medication.

For many people, standard antidepressants that target serotonin are helpful. But for others, different pathways in the brain may be involved.

Treatments like Spravato® and ketamine work on the glutamate system, which is one reason they can help when other options have not.

It is not that anything is wrong with you. Sometimes it means a different approach is needed.

If you’ve tried multiple antidepressants and still feel stuck, our team is here to help you explore what options may be right for you.

Mental Health Awareness Month is a good reminder to check in on the people you care about. Sometimes, the people who seem “fine” are the ones who need support the most.

When starting a conversation, choose a calm moment, speak with care, and let them know there’s no pressure to have the perfect answer.

A simple check-in can help someone feel less alone.

Starting a new treatment can feel overwhelming, and asking the right questions matters.

Here are 3 questions to ask before starting any new treatment:
1. What are the realistic outcomes and timeline?
2. Should I be doing therapy as part of these treatments?
3. What’s the next step if the treatment doesn't work?

A good provider will answer all three without hesitation.

At Ascend, that’s the standard, and our team is here to help you feel informed, supported, and confident in your next step.

We know it can be hard to ask for help, and even harder to hear you have to wait.

At Ascend Health Center, most new patients are seen within two weeks of their first call. When you’re ready to take that step, we want to help you get started as soon as possible.

Give us a call. We’re here for you.

Seven years ago, Ascend Health Center began with a mission to help people find real relief, real answers, and real hope.

Since then, we’ve had the privilege of caring for thousands of patients, walking with them through some of life’s hardest moments, and helping them move toward healing.

We’re incredibly grateful for the trust our patients, families, and community have placed in us over the last 7 years.

And while we’re proud of how far we’ve come, we’re even more hopeful for all that still lies ahead.

We get this question a lot: "What’s the difference between Spravato and ketamine?"

Spravato® (esketamine) is FDA-approved, administered as a nasal spray, and covered by most insurance. It’s specifically for treatment-resistant depression.

Ketamine infusions are IV-based, typically self-pay, and can be used for both depression and chronic pain.

Both are administered in-clinic with full monitoring. Both have their place.

Our expert team is here to help you find the right choice depending on your diagnosis, insurance, and goals.
