Most kids like dressing up, especially this time of year πŸŽƒπŸ‚... but have you ever wondered why? Piaget said "Play is the work of children." When children imagine who and what they can be, they are working their brains more than we know πŸ’

Dress up play encourages empathy (putting ourselves in others' shoes), turn-taking, sharing, and collaboration. It boosts πŸš€ imagination and problem solving ❓, teaches leadership skills, and builds confidence and emotional awareness πŸ˜„πŸ˜πŸ˜‘.

So, encourage your little ones to dress up and put those little minds to work this spooky season!

You can see why we've been a little quiet on social media lately. Dr. Wallace and Stacey Quinlan joined with Ranzi Stacy and Jacie Sencindiver to present "Finding Your Voice: Advocacy Skills for Parents and Caregivers" at the Mountain State Conference on Disabilities: Bridging the Gap on September 19th. We enjoyed teaching practical skills for advocacy to parents, caregivers, and professionals, including crafting your story and honing your elevator pitch. Interested in learning more?
